Disgusting the woman was there counting the meat in the box after dude put the food in there. The woman again pooked her nose in counting the meat saying that it a large. Granny dearest would give better portions and don't count meat pieces. Well that is a small in my opinion as we ordered large. The woman then fried overripe plantain, not even to drain the oil off yuck, yuck, and sold it. My partner he vomited and became sick overnight. He said if was cooked properly he wouldn't have vomited the whole night and I said it the nasty oil she used. The woman never even apologised about the nasty soggy plantain she put in the box she only wanted the sale and she knew it was disgusting Would you serve your own child that?? I imagine so cause she made a stupid sentence on it saying this is what we have. I wanted to take it back instantly, but my partner is not the man to complain about food. She should have said I don't have any plantain than to force selling the excessively over ripped plantain, in the nasty oil then fried it without care like she feeding pigs coming off the street to buy food terribly. Not everyone can cook and follow a basic recipe and even to fry plantain to a palatable standard. Much less sell ppl good portioned size meat. It seems to be a major complaint in this make shift place as other ppl left their reviews. We have not brought food here since my partner narrowly escaped a hospital admission. AND WE WON'T. My system is stronger than his but I still felt I narrowly escaped hospital myself. People I suggest you all don't buy here if you choose not to be sick and end up with diarrhoea or a hospital visit. I felt bad about my partner being sick. Terrible, terrible. Do not try to justify this experience and review. How can you justify selling oilly overripe soggy nasty plantain and a member of the public got sick and also such meagre food. People who do not know jamaican dishes will perhaps rate it as the best but the news is that it's NOT. This is the first place we have been that count even the rice grains and are stingy with the meat. Who wants 3.9.9/4 box of rice even the cabbage they are stingy with. We had brought oxtail and it was just an overall regrettable experience. If you do not know Jamaican food you probably would rate them 5 stars but they are not in...

I’m skeptical about any restaurant in Delaware with a 4.9 as DE isn’t as ... cultured. I’ve had my fair share of bad experiences.

But i still gave this place a try, because it’s a 4.9.

Man I have tasted every West Indian restaurant around the Wilmington area and they DO NOT COMPARE to this place. They can not even begin to touch it ...

I was taken aback at how delicious the food was and actually seasoned to an actual West Indian palate, i appreciate them not “simmering it down”.

I’d recommend this place to anyone. The rice can be a bit more tastier and plantain a little less oily, but nonetheless - disrespectfully delicious and I don’t say that about many.

This 4.9 is DEFINITELY 1000% warranted.

Came here on 12/16 and ordered a large jerk chicken plate and talk about disappointment. I paid $16 for rice, cabbage, jerk chicken SKIN and BONES with a side of Mac. Disappointed. I couldn’t and wasn’t going to drive back out because it was a snow storm and I am from the south with no experience in driving in the snow. Really really...

Let me just say this!! I’ve eaten many places in states on the east coast that claim to be good at Authentic Jamaican Food then fail to have my toes tapping! The owners of Negril are very hard working, salt of the earth people that cook really good food. Respect Do!!!

Stopped by late on a Friday just before closing and the food was fresh, seasoned with perfection and the jerk chicken was cooked perfectly. They used the correct wood for flavor. Top Tier and priority in Jamaican Jerk! Rice & Peas on point, cabbage supreme, mac n cheese banging, coco bread and chicken patties yum!! The price point is affordable and portions are outstanding!

Breakfast’s on Saturdays so if ya want porridge they need more request and foot traffic. Do not be discouraged by the location it’s literally within walking distance from so called “safe” neighborhoods. I’ll be headed back to Negril soon to try the veggie patties and curry chicken. Thank you so much owners for touching my spirit and belly with your...

Seriously LOVEEE this place and their food! I’ve had dishes from other Caribbean spots and they’re either over priced and not the best taste wise or their portions don’t match the price. Here , literally EVERYTHING is spot on! Oxtail platter with rice and beans and cabbage is my favorite along with fried plantains and a pineapple Jamaican soda! I tried the Curry goat with Mac and cheese as well and it was just as good! They’re the only Jamaican spot in Wilmington that’ll get my money. Keep up the great work and please try to add more options on Grubhub for platters , I normally order here for lunch and would love to try something new.
