Special little theater and glad I didn't sit up in front 6 rows or so as I think their becks were probably hurting by end of 3 hour show. A few of the seats in lower level seats in back do have site problems due to poles holding up balcony but this is well marked on site/seating map. I heard this people even saying it wasn't bad and they simply had to adjust their seat sometimes if performed stood in the "wrong spot". So enough about helping pick a great viewing seat as the Funny Girl show was Fantastic!!! The musicians intro overture was could have used a little warming up beforehand but quality was fabulous during show. The costume and hair styles were admirable. Doing Ziegfield glamor in a small NC budget was quite an accomplishment. The lead female and male singers were superb. Fanny accent was not Brooklyn or Long Island at all but wow could she belt out a song well. Delightful theater. Even ticket box staff were accommodating as we had to change dates.

A Wonderful experience, with talented actors! We saw Steel Magnolias, and it was amazing! We were able to get 2 tickets a few rows back in the dress circle, with excellent view, less than a week before the show. At the time, they were under $50 each. There was popcorn, candy, water, sodas and wine available there, which was a welcome surprise. I loved the interpretation of the play, and we shared laughter and tears. I will say the left side of the dress circle was in spotlight most of the time, which I don't think would be a comfortable place to sit, so I'd pick middle or right sections if you sit in the dress circle. It has stadium seating with wide comfy chairs, so it's a good choice, if you're not sitting right in the front, on the first floor. We will definitely go again! Thank you!

FREE TOUR DAY at Thalian Hall. Awwww! I was hoping for better. It's extremely tiny, the seats are small & uncomfortable and the Thunder Roll effect that they saved for the finale of the tour was beyond disappointing. I've hear sound effects for weather sound better on my cell phone app. They mentioned a lot of other things besides theatrical show performances that are being held there. That's sad! They now host weddings, parties, comedy night & such. I guess bc no one gets dressed up & go to the theater anymore.

Normally love Thalien Hall... been coming to events since 1985.

Went to the bluegrass bash with great expectations. They only had three bands and only one, Massive Grass was good. The Sail Away Ladies, a pick up band, was juvenile at best. They desecrated Rhiannon Giddens' version of Corn Bread an Butter Beans. I did not care for their their other song choices either, and their harmonies were loose (which is compilmentary compared to what they acually did) and lacked depth and texture. They also lack the musical/instumental skill/talent expected of a featured band at a venue like Thalien Hall. General Assembly had a great lead guitar player who has a great voice but the rest of the band, especially the lead female vocal was poor. While Massive Grass was very good, they are more of a CW Fusion band. They were fun and enjoyable to watch and a relief to our ears. With all of the really great blue grass bands in Eastern NC, this was a shame. I recently caught a free show at Haws Run Community Center that was truly blue grass and MUCH better than the Blue Grass Bash.

Sad thing is, Thalian Hall is a gem and a truly beautiful theater. Saw Jeremy Kittle here years ago and it was one of the best concerts I have ever enjoyed to include New Years concerts in Prague. Hoping the folks running Thalien Hall pick a better show...

Attended Broadway show tonight of the chorus line and the theater is spectacular loved it however, many people behind me were “Woooooohoo-ing” during the performance which I feel is totally inappropriate. It would be a much better atmosphere if they make an announcement the same as they do with turning off your cell phone. Your enthusiasm for the show is wonderful, but should be tempered out of consideration for both the audience and the performers. Nobody needs to hear people shrieking, whooping, screaming, and hollering after every song. It is a Broadway show, not a rock concert, not an arena or a sports stadium. If you are so moved to react to the show, then a gentle clap after the song is appropriate, but whooping is not. Save your whooping for the final curtain call, where you can whoop as much as you would...
