Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries — Restaurant in Wilson

I ordered take out from here after about a year or so of not ordering from them due to a change in ownership and a lot of issues from multiple other people posted on another site. We USED to have good food and interactions here so we thought we’d give it one more chance despite all the negative reviews of the new owner and food quality. However we were severely disappointed right when we got home and opened the meal. We ordered two big cheesesteak meals with fries and a kids chicken tender meal. Over a year ago the food came in a foam container packaged like an actual meal, Sunday the two sandwiches came wrapped in foil that wasn’t even fully enclosed. The fries were wrapped in loose parchment paper not even an actual bag and were falling out as we grabbed them, not a big deal people need to save money whatever, just annoying. The big “cheese” steak included the bare minimum amount of cheese that was only noticeable halfway through. The bread was dry, had barely any meat in them and overall way worse quality than we had over a year ago. The two piece chicken tender meal that was order was eaten by my mom and it gave her food poisoning. Not only her but our two dogs got a bite and both were sick to their stomachs throwing up all the next day. The next day my dad called the manager just to let her know about the situation and that she should maybe check the chicken so it didn’t happen again. He specifically stated he did not want a refund he just wanted to have a conversation. The first response was “well I highly doubt she got it from our food but alright by then if you say so” in a sarcastic monotone voice. The whole time the manger had the nastiest most checked out attitude possible. No customer service skills and over all just not enjoyable to talk to. There was zero aggression from our end of the conversation and the way she handled it was very disgusting to see. We should have listened and never went back but now we know! Hopefully we can save someone else the trip and the nasty attitude...

I'm giving the one star because giving no stars is not even an option. This has to be one of the worst fast food experiences I have ever had, and without apology, offered refund, or to even cook me a new meal the way I ordered it. I ordered two cheeseburgers. I don't know why, but they thought it would be okay to serve me two raw cheeseburgers that were actually cold in the middle. See the photos I posted of the raw meat (look in the photos section, I couldn't put them with the review.) I requested the cheeseburgers with mustard and no ketchup. Look at the photos I posted, you will see I got ketchup. I ordered two orders of french fries cooked well done. Not only were they not cooked well done, they were a very light blonde, and barely cooked. They were not busy at all, only three customers, so it isn't like they were slammed with orders and had to rush. But that still would not have been a reason to not have cooked the meat and the French fries. And here it even gets better. I ordered two chocolate shakes. The woman put vanilla ice cream in two cups, and then says they are all out of chocolates syrup. She said the manager is going to go to the grocery store and buy some chocolate syrup and will be back in a minute. 20 minutes later she is putting the chocolate syrup in my now melted ice cream and making the shakes. I also ordered the whipped cream and cherries on top. They were all out of whipped cream. No apologies or anything, just told me we're all out of whipped cream, here's your two milkshakes. My husband drank one sip of his before he threw it in the trash, I only took one or two sips before I threw mine in the trash. You couldn't even taste any chocolate, it just tasted like melted vanilla ice cream. The raw food we were served went in the TRASH CAN as well. We left there and had to go to McDonald's to get something to eat because we were still hungry. I would love to have...

1/17/25 I made an online order for lunch around 12, I had a couple errands to run first and thought I would have plenty of time and food would be ready. Arrived to restaurant around 12:30 to be told I still had a wait, no issue at first I can be understandable. Proceeded to wait another 30-45 minutes. At this point I am now late back to work from my break, I peek in the bag to check the order, I did not receive the three side orders of tots I ordered but instead got one tot and one fry. I dared not say anything so I wouldn't have to wait any longer. Then came the drinks, I ordered an orangeade and a lemonade. When asked what my drinks were I was told "We are out of orangeade and lemonade", so I asked for two sweet teas only to be met with "We are out of tea too." Frustrated enough I asked for two sodas, one Dr Pepper and a Mtn Dew, only to be given two Dr Peppers. Once given the drinks the waitress tried apologizing but in her apology she claims "she ain't got time to make more". Really something a customer wants to hear....also took ten minutes to make one plain vanilla shake.....And to top it all off two of the four sandwich's ordered were made wrong. Will not be back.
