Blast from the past decor, and great diner food (which we don't have much of in the area). Menu is basic foods but packed with options. Breakfast all day is a plus! Meats are from a local butcher, the biscuits and gravey are both home made, and people are friendly. Limited seating but if you can get a spot (or go for a late breakfast) it is worth it! Only critique is that it didn't have much seasoning, but overall good and will return!

Finally got to eat at the Amherst Diner. The food is good. Come hungry the portions are large! The prices are reasonable. Biscuits and gravy are satisfying; but, the home fries are the best! Restaurant is cozy. The staff is friendly.

Stopped in for lunch and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly, restaurant was clean, bathrooms clean. I will definitely be back.

This is probably one of the worst dirty spoons I have ever been to. We waited 45 minutes for our food and the restaurant was not even that busy. The pancakes were not homemade; they used some kind of quick mix. The sunny side eggs has raw egg white (not properly cooked). The philly cheesesteak did not use real steak chips. It was just a little bit of hamburger meat on a store-bought, DRY white roll. The portions were really tiny. The pancakes were dry and had the texture of rubber. Their imitation maple syrup was the worst fake maple syrup I've ever had. Like pouring Gorilla Glue all over. The walls and floors have not had a proper cleaning in about 30 years. The service was slow. This place was full of elderly people who needed their diapers badly changed. Everybody stank of terrible body odor. Atmosphere SUCKED. When we were paying and they asked me, "how was it", we told them our experience and they told us that "Sundays are our busy day" BUT we came...

Nice, quaint diner. The food, however, is elementary school quality in dire need of freshness and value. Portions are bleak. Food quality is proportional to prison food with the inflated prices. We had 4 couples order food after us who received their food before us. Our server did not appear apologetic whatsoever for the almost 40-minute wait time for a simple salad and sandwich order. When our order did arrive, the salad was bland and plain: chopped iceberg lettuce with 5 chicken straps and a packet of dressing and crackers. My steak sandwich consisted of sliced iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, and 6 thin steak stips with the consistency of a Goodyear tire after a blowout. This was collected in a hot dog bun, yes a hot dog bun, cut in half with fries. That sandwich was over $12 of disappointment. Hint: Nostalgic food is triflingly bad.

I would highly suggest avoiding the Amhearst Diner. It is an overpriced disappointment no one...

Ordered the grilled chicken entree with some mashed potatoes and mixed veggies. When the waitress brought it out I thought I was on candid camera. It looked like a kids meal. The grilled chicken was so small that two bites and it's gone. A little bowl of mashed potatoes and a little bowl of veggies. Wasn't worth the price. The waitress felt so bad for me she gave me a second grilled chicken dinner for free. Don't think I will...
