My friend and I stopped in for a bit to eat after s long day. We have eaten here before and enjoyed the food and the service until last night. Lastnight we walked up to the bar ( completely filthy, waited for it to be cleaned) . After being seated the bartender( KELLY) barely greeted us , not until we got her attention letting her know we’re ready to order . Moving forward, It took nearly 10 mins to receive our caeser salads . Finally After telling her what I wanted and that I was looking for a margarita pizza or tomo basil style pizza SHE SUGGESTED a pizza that was specialty pizza if there’s so I agreed to get it . When it came out it looked nothing like the pizza I had order before and I told her I was not happy with it . She then asked what can she do to fix the problem. I told her I want what cheese, basil oil and tomatoe ( at this point I’m confused as to why they aren’t sure what I’m talking about since they are professional pizza place ) so after the 2nd attempt to making the pizza , the pizza looked like what I had asked for but tasted nothing like it and it was either soggy from the tomatoe they put on it or it wasn’t done. So at this point I was over this and just said I’ll take a pepperoni pizza because at this pint my friend was done eating. So once she brought he pepperoni pizza over in a Togo box and my check. She told me that he owner told her to charge me for both pizza but he did me a favor by giving me $6 off. At this point I’m at a loss for words becaus the owner came over and asked me who was going to pay for the pizza he threw away. And I said “ if you are so concerned about your food cost the very moment your bartender brought back THE 2nd pizza he should have come over to see what the issue was” he then proceed to argue with me which is completely unprofessional and I have never been treated like that in a restraunt especially one I enjoyed going too. So to wrap this review up I will never go back there simply for the way I was treated over a misunderstanding . I received no apology for them not meeting my satisfaction or anything . That is not how you treat your costumers or how you solve aproblem . And the owner should be ashamed...
Read moreI’d honestly rate this place 0 stars if I could after Bryan the bartender upstairs publicly humiliated me in the middle of the restaurant by not allowing my boyfriend to help me in the bathroom when I had bled on myself and told me repeatedly “I can’t have you leaning on my sink to break it.” “You two can’t be leaning on my sink and breaking it”.. I’m not sure who says that to a customer, especially one who’s bled through their pants, has POTS and standing up from a toilet can cause me to pass out leaving it dangerous for me to be alone in the first place. I understand, nobody wants anyone doing anything dirty in their bathroom. However, I have a picture in that same bathroom with a female from a few months ago.. Had that not been the same scenario? Why were we not stopped then? Why did I have to get humiliated and embarrassed in the middle of your bar…? Personally, I will never be returning nor will this establishment get a single penny from me again. I would never imagine telling a customer repeatedly that they’re going to break the sink from leaning on it. I’m not sure how I can misunderstand what he meant by that either. Very embarrassing a restaurant would want to keep someone like that employed. BRYAN, thank you once again for calling me out in the middle of the bar to the point I had become so uncomfortable and could not even use it after that. Great, welcoming...
Read moreI walked in at just after noon on a sunday and was greeted by a warm welcoming staff. The bartender, Kelly, was quick to spark up conversation and share the array of house brewed beer on tap. Before really taking a moment to review the menu, I was told the special of the day, a polenta and wild mushroom platter with roasted tomatoes and prosciutto. While I waited I spoke with a younger looking gentleman, Caleb, who shared a some enlightening information about the high level of care and knowledge of the pizza industry and about a pizza makers convention he would be attending in Vegas this month. He happened to be one of the owners and was very approachable and easy to talk to! My entree arrived sooner than I could have expected and keeping in alignment with the theme of pizza, it was presented appearing as such; thick, full, and hearty. The polenta was wonderfully seasonsed and the wild mushroom medley blended well and texture was cleverly balanced by the crispy bits of prosciutto. Roasted, skinned and balsamic vinegar soaked tomatoes pulled it all together with just a touch of sweetness and the zucchini slices broadened the color spectrum making for a very visually appealing dish.
I will definitely be coming back here every time I have the opportunity to visit Winchester. They are truly masters of...
