This place is honestly a blast! To say I got lost in time would be an understatement. Polka Dot Pot's selection of paintable items was vast compared to many similar places. So vast, in fact, it took me over 20 minutes just to decide on a piece to paint. They have pieces perfect for young children and pieces so detailed that you can easily get lost in the process for hours. I selected a 'simpler' item and ended up spending over 2 hours until closing, finishing up my piece(hence the uncompleted mushroom). The staff were friendly, not overbearing, and really just left us to our own devices. 10/10 would recommend and will be here again.
Edit: Added my finished piece after glazing. My piece was not ready when I went to pick it up, as I was told. However, I understand that they have been very busy and delays are to...
Read moreThis would be a really great place, BUT if you come on a night that the old man is working, he will spoil all the fun! He was grumpy and flat out rude when people would ask questions. He wouldnt let the kids use more than 3 colors on their pottery, and he wasn't kind to the kids either. Come 5:00 (we had arrived at 3), he tried to kick us out and not allow us to finish our pottery (which was only a few minutes away from being done). It stinks that one bad employee can ruin an entire expeience. Next time i will go to Hands to Create in Front Royal, where the workers...
Read moreBrought the kids here for Father's Day. It worked out really well. The variety of pottery to paint is huge. Some functional, some silly, all wonderful. The staff was that perfect balance of helpful when we needed it, and distant enough to let us enjoy a family moment. They also have a lot of non-ceramic art projects you can do, so I'm sure I'll be coming back here for wonderfully keepsakes. Took about a week for the glazed items to get fired, and be ready for pickup. Very conveniently located on the walking mall in old town Winchester. Great to grab lunch, and then go...
