This place has been circling the drain for a while, but tonight it officially hit rock bottom. I met up with the former owner of El CENTRO for dinner, and the second we walked in, it felt like a sauna — close to 80° inside. We literally had to use the menu to fan ourselves! Even the host was fanning herself in between rolling silverware. The salsa? So salty it could have doubled as ocean water. Completely inedible. We sent it back. The chips? Not even chips — just a sad pile of broken crumbs, like they scraped the bottom of the bag and thought no one would notice. Step outside and it gets even sadder. Half the flower boxes are empty, and the others are stuffed with dollar-store fake flowers tangled up with weeds. It’s like they’re trying to set a record for “world’s least inviting restaurant entrance.” Inside, the walls are chipped, the paint is tired, and the wall that used to be full of décor now has exactly one lonely picture left hanging — like even the artwork is trying to escape. I worked here for ten years. This used to be a place with pride, energy, and atmosphere. Now? It looks and feels like no one cares anymore — not about the food, the building, or the guests. It’s not El CENTRO anymore. It’s just… sad.

Our server, Reynaldo, was attentive, friendly, and accommodating. We started our meal with an order of chimi rolls - delightfully seasoned, shredded chicken and sweet corn stuffed in a fried tortilla, topped with a slightly spicy chipotle sauce and salty cotija cheese crumbles. We had a few questions about items on the menu and he quickly had answers for us. I joked that I was a bit disappointed with the lack of authentic Mexican style tacos (corn tortilla, meat, onion, cilantro, and picante sauce). Right away, he made the recommendation to try their steak tacos al carbon with a few modifications he’d make for me. He was spot on and came out with a plate of delicious food including the rice and refried beans. My husband tried a steak quesadilla and was pleased with the flavor and size of his meal. Reynaldo, thank you for a great experience! We will definitely be back and hopefully served by you again!

My family and I were visiting the Winchester area and decided to eat there. The waitress seemed annoyed right away that my family was seated in her station. We did not feel welcomed at all. The silverware was very dirty so my son asked for plastic silverware. This seemed to annoy the waitress even more. A young man took over and brought out our food. The food was horrible. The vegetables were so mushy and burnt. My son and daughter did not eat so we asked for boxes to go. Although the new waiter was better than the waitress we didn't feel comfortable at all. That food should not have been brought to our table. So over $200 dollars wasted. Although I would have complained to a manager my family said let's just go. We will never eat there again.

We had a very large party. Waitress charged us for extra chips/salsa. and sour cream. All and all the wait staff are RUDE. The hostesses that welcome you are young, friendly, pleasant and nice though. They need to have THEM be the waitresses instead! I can't imagine why they're not. Our waitress never even said the normal pleasantries when she came to take our order. No smiles or warmth, no "How is everyone doing this evening? Is there a special event you're celebrating today?" or anything. I've been here before, and, it's very strange, but the bartender has ZERO ZERO ZERO personality. That's very strange for being a bartender! She's rude, very UNFRIENDLY, and you're lucky to get a water with your food/beer, if you ask her for it 3 times. Usually a bartender is a "PEOPLE PERSON". They enjoy "shooting the bull" so to speak, ask where you're from, how you're doing, what brings you in town etc. This one does not speak to anyone, or smile, except speak the BARE minimum to order food or drink. Chip on her shoulder. The bar only has a tiny tv to watch a game. They need like 3,4,5 LARGE TV's at the bar with sports on (silent) so people can watch the games. The wait staff have been there a long time, clearly they feel they have job security, or entitlement, so they're not worried about delivering good service. They rush you, so you will leave, so they can refill your table with the next customers. (And god forbid if you sit at the bar for a drink, and NOT order dinner). It does have a good location being downtown, and they have great live music which creates a good fun atmosphere. But that's about it. The food is just okay, rather pricy dinner menu and the...

Well first off they didn't want to seat us with plenty of open tables inside and out. I think it was because we had 3 children with us. So we got sat quickly because a server said we could be sat in her section(her name was Eli). Well we sat there for a while before we even got our drink order taken, once she brought the drinks she immediately left. So we sat for a while once again, then she finally came and took our order. We gave her the benefit of the doubt and shrugged it off. Our food was brought by food runners and a refill of chips and salsa the same. We disnt see our server again until we were halfway done eating. We asked for drink refills at this time and didn't get them until we got our checks. We had been done eating for 20 mins before she even came back to ask if we were ready for the check. Im easy going so I was like whatever she's having a hectic day.....until I see the check, they want to include a 20% tip. This is when I became pissed off, I asked her what the deal was with that and she wanted to justify it but then took it off. I never saw her again after she returned with the gratuity removed. I've been here before and the service was fine, the food is always just average. Its like 2-3 dollars more for a meal that's better elsewhere. I was here out of convenience, I left her a single dollar bill. I might come back to get drinks that's about it, only if my friends...

I took my daughters and grandson here for a birthday lunch. We were seated with no menus, we sat there for about 15 minutes (enough time to finish our chips and salsa), before we finally got up and asked for a menu, which we were told we were suppose to use the scan code on the table (which was never told to us). The waitress came and took our drink order finally, which my grandsons drink was incorrect. We waited another 15 minutes before she took our order. My meal was mediocre ( chicken chimichanga), my 1 daughter said here chicken in the quesadilla was rubbery, and my other daughter said hers was blah (steak chimichanga). We finally got the bill, I gave the waitress my credit card immediately, and while my daughters had used the restrooms and headed out, I awaited to sign my copy. She brought me back another tables credit card and bill to sign, and gave that table my card and bill. I immediately told her it was not mine, then this took another 10 minutes for her to correct. She had charged me for their meal and vice versa. When she corrected it, she returned me a slip saying an amount ( which was blank) to my card. At this point my daughters were concerned and were headed back in to see what was taking so long. Needless to say, we were...
