It is a cute little hole in the wall shop. I like the little lounge areas in the front with the plants and decorations.
The food tasted good. The service was okay. We both got water, and we were not asked for a refill - even when both of our cups were empty. They did not check up on us throughout the meal to ask if everything was okay, or if we need anything.
We tried the karaage. We both really liked it, and would recommend it.
We also tried the miso soup. It was typical miso soup.
The gyoza was good. It wasn't the best I have had, but still yum. I think this is because I prefer the pan steamed gyoza over their (I'm assuming it was fried) gyoza.
Their sandos we would both recommend. They are different from most of the sandwiches you will try here in the US. We both tried half of each other's sandos. They were delicious.
We tried the chicken curry rice. It was okay, nothing special - just traditional curry rice you can find in many places.
We also tried their teriyaki chicken. It was a very subtle flavor, not very strong at all. The chicken tasted really good with the cooked vegetables it was served with.
We tried the (Matcha? It was green.) tiramisu, and it was good. I just did not like the amount of bitter green powder on the top for my personal preferences.
Will probably come back for the karaage and sandos.
Also, even though we were the only two customers, they took time bringing out the dishes when compared to other restaurants.
The dishes also had a home-cooked appeal to them. Definitely would recommend it if you want to eat mom or dad's home...
Read moreI've been wanting to try this place for awhiles but decided to wait a few months after opening. Placed in a strip mall on Pecos/Trop next to Zenaidas (another gem), this is a small little Japanese style eatery specializing in Katsu which is deep fried pork/chicken cutlets. Katsu is a staple of Japanese cuisine and growing up in Japan I knew I had to try it. I ordered the Pork katsu sandwich with tonkatsu sauce and the Chicken Katsu curry bowl. I brought it home and my husband son, and I tried some of each. It did not disappoint!!! The "sando" as it's referred to by the Japanese was tender and between 2 pieces of milk bread, which again is a staple of Japan. The curry was Japanese style which is a thicker version of other countries curries, and the chicken Katsu on top was once again moist and cooked to perfection. I highly recommend Katsuco and supporting a small business in the neighborhood!! A hidden gem. Now if we can get egg sandos on the menu, I'll be very happy. ...

Upon entering was quickly greeted and asked if there were any questions regarding the menu. My questions were all answered with ease. You order at the front counter, pay, and the food is brought out to you.
Opted for the Pork Katsu Combo with Lumpia and Chicken Katsu Combo with Gyoza. They offer different sauces for your sandos that are made in house. And you can def taste the difference. Also they had Calpico as one of their drinks for sale. Made my day!!!!
Interior is very neat in my opinion. There are a few seating arrangements along with a long table for larger group of people. You could def read a book or do some work on a laptop in here. Everything was very clean. A television was on for entertainment.
Would def recommend. Pricing was reasonable. Staff was very courteous and hospitable. I have already plotted my...
