Did not meet the expectations I had. Right from walking in something seemed off. Made reservations on their website so they knew my demographics. Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated in a 1/4 filled dining area. Called for a party of 5 by a tired disheveled person that turned out to be our waiter as well. If this was a slightly more polished profession establishment he could have taken a second to find my name to great me instead of "party of 5". Interior is dimly lit, not sure if it was to create an ambiance or hide something.
Upon being seating he basically told us that we should take out time that things were going slow tonight. He brought back water and said bread was in the oven. With bread he asked about other drinks. Claimed he had passion tea but was not fresh brewed like the unsweetened tea. So you would actually have a powder mix!
Finally taking the order we were informed they were not making, muscles, lobster ravioli, ciopono and osso bucco. I told him the train I came here was for the osso bucco. He looked at me and shrugged. Seriously, blank look and shrugged. Finally after a stare down here admitted that tomorrow they will be closed for 2 weeks to go on vacation. They did not buy food for the week because they did not want to throw it out " like they did last year" ( uh pandemic last year). Now on the email confirmation they could have informed me of this or even last night when I added the 5th person and spoke to a person on the phone.
We're started with the no flavor calamari and no flavor red sauce, also tried the eggplant Sicilian. The eggplant wasn't bad but lacked something, I would have preferred mild fresh garlic. I ordered the chicken francese with a side of penne with marinara. The chicken francese wasn't bad but again missing some flavor, lemon and parsley, salt and pepper. The marinara on the penne was substituted for the no flavor red sauce.
When presented with dessert I had no desire for further disappointment and passed.
I can't in good conscience recommend coming here. With the lack luster service and enthusiasm after just opening for dinner I'm not sure that not going on vacation and having a full stocked kitchen would...
Read moreSo my wife and I decided to try a new place for Italian the night before last. We looked at reviews for nearby places and selected Sicilian Ristorante. Concerned that we might need reservations, we called ahead to ask. The individual who answered informed us that for our party of two there would be no problems being seated right away if we arrived within the next hour.
We arrive shortly thereafter and while the place is full, there are seats available. There are two ladies in the entry in front of us reading a menu, presumably waiting to be seated. A waiter and who I assume is either the host or GM are up front taking payments. Though we are noticed, we are not greeted, but rather, promptly ignored. We patiently wait for several minutes while the two up front blatantly ignore us and continue to take checks to process payments, even taking folks coming in from the dining room, stepping in front of the ladies in front of us to run their cards.
At about the 12-15 minute mark with no acknowledgement whatsoever, I manage to gain the attention of the waiter stating that we are being ignored and would like to be seated. He replies with "We're too busy to seat anyone for at least another 30 minutes." When I attempt to state that we even called ahead, he essentially turned his back on us and walks away. No apology, no attempt at any sort of civility.
Needless to say, we left at that point. I placed a call from our next stop to complain, but that call too was entirely unproductive with no real attempt to apologize or set things right. For a place that implies they are a 20-year fixture in Vegas, I am frankly shocked that they could continue to stay open more than a week or two with abyssal customer service as was displayed that night. We certainly will not return and strongly urge anyone reading this to avoid this place...
Read moreI absolutely loved this place. We arrived at this exquisite place like around 2:30-3:00pm. At first you are greeted with a very happy and well spoken host guiding you to your table. We came here when the place was a bit empty but it wasn't long until the place started to get busy. The atmosphere was nice, I love the decor, clean bathrooms, and large pictures of Italy and other places. I was a bit wary at first when I arrived since the entrance had a slightly foul scent, but I was glad I stayed because the rest of the experience was delightful and the smell went away eventually. The service here is one of the best I've seen. The waiter serving us was so funny and did an impeccable job at attending to us. He made sure we felt at home and enjoyed our experience dining there. Let me just say, my husband and I are very awkward people socially but the waiter made our evening enjoyable and relaxing. We ordered the wings and it was soo good, trust me you won't regret ordering them. We ordered the Sicilian pizza and my husband loved it despite not like vegetables that much. I wanted to try their pepperoni pizza so I ordered a small one. I think they forgot about that pizza because we had to remind the sir we were waiting for a small pizza. They quickly went to check on the pizza and brought it out. I totally understand, I was not upset at all about it. Life happens, and we are humans. The pepperoni pizza was a little burnt on the bottom but it was still tasty. I'm sure they would have gladly remade the pizza for me if I had asked but I was already feeling a bit full so I decided not to bother them on something so small. Overall, wonderful service, food and atmosphere. This place is chef's kiss and I will return for seconds. I highly recommend...
