I’m writing this review because I’m tired of being treated differently by servers just because I’m “young.” I was a server for many years, and I was trained by high-end restaurants to treat every customer with the same level of respect and attention. Unfortunately, that was not my experience here.
We arrived before 4 PM—before the rush—and were only the third table seated in the restaurant. Within 5–10 minutes, the place started to fill up. However, instead of taking our order, Yesenia (dressed as La Bruja del 71) went to every single new table before ours, getting their drink and food orders first. It took about 10–15 minutes before she even came over to ask what we wanted to drink. By then, all the new tables already had their drinks, and some even had their food—service here is usually quick.
After ordering two margaritas, we waited another 15–20 minutes to receive them. No exaggeration—the table next to us was nearly finished eating by the time we got our drinks. Once they arrived, no one checked on us. I kept looking around, waiting, but Yesenia was busy attending a large table of eight. While I understand that big parties require more time, we had been waiting far longer than those who arrived after us. Eventually, I believe she noticed me looking around and sent another server (Don Ramón, I think) to take our order.
Unfortunately, he wasn’t much better. I even tried to lighten the mood with a comment in Spanish—“Hay amigo, se olvidaron de nosotros”—but instead of acknowledging it or apologizing, he simply asked what we wanted to order. No effort to make us feel welcomed.
Once our food was ordered, it came out quickly, as usual. The food here has always been amazing—that’s why I make it a point to visit every time I come from Las Vegas. But this time, the service was so disappointing that I doubt I’ll be back.
After finishing our meal, we had to wait another 20–30 minutes for someone to bring the check. I don’t mind spending money on good food and service—our bill was over $130 for two people—but if I’m paying that much, I expect to be treated with basic respect. Yesenia and Don Ramón never once checked on us while we were eating. The only staff member who showed kindness was the host (dressed as Popis), who was genuinely sweet and attentive.
When Yesenia finally came back, she simply dropped off the check and to-go boxes without a word—no thank you, no courtesy. I don’t know what her issue was, but servers should respect all customers, regardless of age. If they assumed I wouldn’t tip, they were right—because after that experience, I couldn’t justify it. I only left $3, and that was more than they deserved.
I’m writing this review because this experience ruined my visit, and I want management to be aware. I sincerely hope Yesenia and Don Ramón receive some kind of training because treating customers this way is unacceptable. Unfortunately, after today, I won’t be returning...
Read more(Long read) We loved the concept/theme, mis niñas encantadas y para nosotros revivir la niñez. We had been looking forward to eating here for a few weeks with all the awesome reviews we read. We ordered the Torta Cubana and Torta Hawaiana, the Hawiana was a bit over priced for just getting ham, a piece of pinapple and chipotle sauce. The Cubana didnt seem to have much flavor and the carne was a bit hard to bit and dry. My husband loved everything that it had it was just missing something for him. Service was not so good and I believe it was the owner who served our tablefrom post Ive seen on FB. To start he was rushing us with our order and it being our first time there we wanted to take our time and ask for some recommendations, and it seemed with everyone else he was being patient, even offered others a real menu. When we ordered our Aguas Frescas we asked for them with little to no ice because it was freezing outside. His response was "we can't they already have ice" we wanted them cold just not a cup full of ice. Our refill which was charged extra was full of ice and pepino instead of having actual Agua Fresca, then when we decided on what to order he was very disruptive while ordering what we wanted and we asked for a plain quesadilla for my 2 year old, when we asked if they can make it de Maiz because my daughter doesnt eat flour it would have just been a waste of food and money. He responded with "Ill see if we can because as you can see we are busy" which he literally only had 3 tables occupied at the time with about 2 customers at each! So that kind of threw us off, us being former food truck owners and having experience in food service. When we got our order he made it a kids meal which we didnt ask for because my 2 year old wasnt going to finish it all and at the end it was just a waste of food! While eating they let a party of about 30+ people in the next dinning area and then another party of about 13 people in the same area! During this pandemic I am pretty sure that it's against guidelines that need to be followed for it being such a small place so we basicly rushed eating our food to get out because we no longer felt comfortable in such a small place with so...
Read moreWhen a Mexican falls in love with a Venezuelan magic is made that is for sure at this husband /wife business. Absolutely everything is made from scratch here. I sampled the homemade juices. Watermelon, cucumber, and melon. All were delicious but the watermelon was my pick with real watermelon chunks in the drink. The drink comes with a larger than normal straw just the get the big chunks. First they brought out red and green salsa with chips which was hotter than the norm which was a good surprise especially if you like good hot salsa. A bean deep with whole beans with cheese was also brought out. I also asked for cheese sauce to be surprised with warm cheese you will see in the pics. I am gluten intolerant so when I found out they make homemade cook tortillas fresh everything my mouth started watering. I have not had tortillas in years because they are usually made with flour. So I was extremely excited about it. When the tortillas came out they were warm and you could immediately tell the are homemade and fresh. The first bite sealed the deal for me. The best corn tortillas I have ever had in my life. As you can imagine I ate well before the main meal even came. I decided on the chicken fajitas and vegetables Enchilada. The Enchiladas had a red sauce that was homemade that was out of this world delicious. Never had a sauce so delicious bursting with flavor. The fajitas were flavorful with some much food to feed the small family well. Lastly the coffee that was rich strong with cinnamon and sugar around the rim was nice touch with the cinnamon sticks with whipped cream. I love finding the family owned business that are exceptional that deserve the recognition. This Mexican restaurant right here in Las Vegas, NV is my favorite restaurant in the United States. I have traveled all over the U.S. the last two years. If you live here or just passing through I highly recommend stopping by this restaurant. Tell them I sent you. Help family owned...
