Rafael's Italian Restaurant — Restaurant in Winchester

I love Rafael's food. It's great food and I have always had a good experience here. Always friendly until today. My boyfriend and I order the same food every time. Never anything different. We get chicken Parm and house calzone. Sometimes I get a salad with my chicken parm. My boyfriend called to order and when I came to pick up the food, they said chicken Parm and Texas something and I said no we ordered the chicken Parm and house calzone. The girl with bright eye shadow was so rude and had an attitude like it was our fault. I'm a manager in food business if I misheard what someone said on the phone I apologize for the miscommunication and let it be. No she got mad, said it was a waste of food, and that no he said something different and kind of argued with me. I never leave reviews but I would have never argued with a customer. I was polite as I could be and she made it as we did something wrong. I even offered to take the wrong order just to make it easier and she said I already it was already in the trash. A friend and I have been eating here for years and the food is very good but when we were there yesterday we had an unwelcome experience. We ordered 2 personal pan pizzas and a small salad and 2 drinks. For the salads we each asked for one of thousand island and one of French and we paid for our lunch. When our order came up we brought it to our table and started to eat our salads. A young man came over and with a woman watching at the counter told us we owed $2 for the extra dressing. My companion said we'd already paid for our food and there had been no mention of an extra $1.00 for each pack of salad dressing. My friend kept saying he should have told us at counter when we paid. It was not the extra $1.00 each of course it was the way it was handled. It made me feel small and as if we'd done something wrong. The older woman kept looking at us. Rafael’s used to be one of our favorite restaurants. Tonight pretty well changed that. We ordered the Grecian Chicken with house dressing on the salad. We got our meals and sat down. We immediately transferred our salad from the styrofoam meal plate over to our styrofoam bread plate. The first thing we noticed was no dressing on the plate. My wife checked her salad and there wasn’t enough dressing on the salad to taste it, same with my plate and salad. The wife went back to the counter and asked for another cup of dressing which are similar in size to the pill cups at the hospital. The lady behind the counter was not friendly, said there was dressing on the salads and another cup is $1.00. After the wife objected the lady gave her one cup of dressing for the two salads. We also noticed the rice bed was not as plentiful and had nearly no veggies as it used to have.
