Food - 2/5 Service - 2/5 Atmosphere - 3/5
I was really craving Diner breakfast and atmosphere when I found Vicki's tucked away in an incognito shopping center. It's a 50's diner, but its 50's element is casual. A lot of pink went into the making of this Diner.
The staff are nice enough, if a little low energy. I was sat at the counter and handed a menu but wasn't asked about a drink until later by my server. I guess they don't believe in teamwork here....I digress. Ordered a coffee and French toast with scramble eggs and sausage. It was made quickly enough. When it came it was a sausage patty - Jimmy Dean's, perhaps? - and unseasoned eggs. These were average, and as I finished them the check came. I started on the french toast excitedly, but it was raw in the center. Not a fan of that at all so I stopped eating it.
Too bad they already checked on me once and dropped my check before i was even halfway finished. That means they can't check on me anymore by the laws of "take the money and run." There were maybe 5 tables besides me and 3 wait staff that walked by again and again, no service. No asking why I hadn't finished. No attempts or effort at all on their end. Until I went to pay and was asked for the second and final time how it was. I told the cashier what was wrong and she said she would tell the cooks. No attempts to reconcile.
This was disappointing and not a...
Read moreJust found this beautiful diner on Google. I've been craving a country fried steak and they make it. The interior of this diner is all soft pink. It's absolutely gorgeous, not that loud obnoxious pink. The staff is extremely friendly, warm, and welcoming!! I arrived at 12:20pm and they were busy, but it wasn't at all crazy or chaotic. Everything seems to be very clean and well maintained which is very comforting in this time of Covid-19. My order is to go, so I haven't actually tried it yet. However given my encounter so far, I'm expecting wonderful things. I will update after I've had a chance to taste things.
Oh good things come to those who wait. I only had to wait about 15 minutes for my to go order. I definitely have found a perfect place for food. I ordered the breakfast country fried steak. Most places these days use a prebreaded frozen steak. Not the case here. This was a freshly breaded, perfectly cooked country fried steak, smothered in perfectly made gravey. My eggs were perfect as where the potatoes. Everything here is clearly fresh and cooked with love to perfection.
I absolutely love this place and am so happy that I found it. It's great that it's close to my house. However even it it weren't, it would be worth the drive. Wonderful staff, beautiful and clean, with fresh food cooked to order with love. I highly...
