Fishland Fish Market — Restaurant in Windcrest

I placed an order on Grub Hub yesterday around 6:15. Went to pick up my order and Fishland Fish Market was closed. No notice on the door and nothing but a dark restaurant. Grub Hub sent me a text that my order would be ready for pick up 7:05. Then they texted me asking me to rate the place! I contacted Grub Hub and they say they will refund for a cancelled order.

I went by a few months ago to order on a Saturday night. Sign was posted on the door that they were catering a wedding. Maybe they're closed for catering on weekends? Who knows?

I used to love this place years back and would call in my order on the way home from work. Wish i could find out what's going on because this place has the best catfish in town! Hubs vouches for their shrimp dinner. I hope they're still open and everything is fine with the owner.

We decided to try a new fish spot b/c our regular spot closed early. The size of my hubby's fish plate (whiting) was HORRIBLE!!! He paid over $15 for appx 4 shrimp and 3 small filets, which were about 1/4 of one whole regular filet! Don't be fooled by the picture we took. The filets were smaller than my palm. My husband took the plate back, and the cook said that's the size of the filets they get. He then said the owner won't let him put more on. Either we were ripped off, or they are ripping off other patrons with these high prices and small portions. Nevertheless, we won't be returning! We seldom eat out b/c the quality and quantity of food being put out at these establishments is just shameful! Save your money and go to Bayseas or even Sea Island. You'd probably get more fish getting Gordon's...

Just happened to be wandering san antonio when I came across windcrest....I learned that day that cities can exist in another city like some sorta....symbiosis relationship...any who, I found my self in need of food. I was not in the mood for burgers im fat enough...I asked my Google to find restaurants near me since I was in unfamiliar territory. Google suggested Fishland fish market...and a salad. 😮‍💨 I drove to this hidden corner spot and ordered the calamari special of the day with catfish..no salad. Take that Google! The food was tasty.
