I am writing to express my concerns regarding recent developments at Walzem Smoothie King Location that have affected my child, who has been employed there for over a year. Initially, we were very pleased with the supportive environment provided by the previous ownership and management. However, since the change in management, there have been several issues that I feel need to be addressed: Safety Concerns: My child, who is still a high school student and under the age of 18, has been required to close the store alone on multiple occasions. This situation raises significant safety concerns, as evidenced by a police officer's inquiry when noticing two young girls alone at the store late at night. Privacy and Communication: After a necessary visit to the ER, my child provided a doctor's note as requested. However, it was brought to my attention that the nature of this visit was disclosed to another employee by the manager, who also indicated that my child's hours would be reduced. When my child attempted to discuss this matter, the response was dismissive. Management Response: I reached out to discuss these concerns, particularly the safety of young employees working alone at night, and was met with an unsatisfactory response. I believe that Smoothie King values impeccable customer service, and I hope that this extends to the treatment of employees as well. Read moreI’ve always had a great interactions with this location but this last one warranted a review. Angela was so great! I ordered a smoothie late at night. I placed it in the in the fridge to re-blend in the morning. When I went to it this morning it did not “keep” well. This was the first time I tried this so I called Smoothie King and spoke with Angela to see if it was normal for the smoothie not to “keep” over night in the fridge. She let me know that it might be best to freeze it next time AND offered to replace it! Not only was she polite but she went over and beyond. Thanks Angela! Read moreAssistant manager Fatima was rude. She was working the drive thru. She gave me the wrong smoothie. I told her it wasn’t what I ordered. She took it back and came back handing me 2 other smoothies. I asked her what those were since my order was already messed up. She told me she didn’t know because she didn’t make them and “you have a beautiful day.” Then she abruptly closed the window on me while I was still speaking. I waited until she opened the window again and asked for the manager, but she claimed to be the manager. I can’t believe a manager would behave like that and be so rude to a customer.
