Staff is usually very good, which is saying a lot because they hire a lot of high school and college kids at this location. The managers here are helpful, knowledgeable, and respectful. Janco's Burger King trains their employees and takes care of them, and it shows. Walk next door to McDonald's and you'll see a huge difference in that regard. This particular Burger King wins out, easily. The food is rarely made incorrectly and, when it is, it is typically corrected promptly. If they mess up really bad they sometimes will give you fries while you wait or even a discount, which is respectable and considerate. However, staff isn't always very knowledgeable, no matter how chill or pleasant they might be. Some questions often have to be deferred to management, some of which are also no the most knowledgeable. They could do with a little more focused training in terms of their menu items. But it's not a dealbreaker. The food is good, obviously, since it's BK. This particular location, the food isn't quite as good as a corporate location, in terms of quality, as corporate locations do rigorous training and high extremely high standards that actually lead to high turnover rates and unpleasant experiences for employees, so it is a tradeoff. That's not to say this location's quality is bad, it's still a 4 out of 5. The major drawback with this location is the atmosphere. The place needs a lot of repairs. It's a very old building, older than I am! I'm surprised it is still standing. The kitchen floors, you can see from the counter, are always a disaster. They would benefit from encouraging their employees to sweep up after themselves in their downtime, maybe wipe stuff down in between rushes... it's not the end of the world but it would go a long way toward making the place more comfortable and pleasant. Wait times are reasonable. They also have a really high tech soda fountain and it's quite impressive. The music is never too loud, and you can always ask them to turn it down of you have sensory sensitivities, as the manager has access to it and is reasonable. Definitely a family place and the dining room is usually reasonably clean. It's never packed, either, as most of their business is in drive thru. Overall, this Janco's Burger King is pretty solid and I prefer it over many corporate BKs I've been to. I also know for a fact that the Janco corporation does take care of their employees, which is another reason to patronage them over places such as McDonald's, who absolutely does not. Great place to have a sit down meal at. Would recommend dining in, rather than drive thru....
Read moreSummary: Food was good and fresh, service was excellent. No complaints.
I really don't leave reviews anywhere but I was genuinely impressed with my experience. There were two cars that had already ordered when I pulled up, but even with that it was under 90 seconds from arriving to leaving with food.
The food: It's fast food, it of course is going to taste great. I got a bacon melt meal (with fries and an oreo shake) and the bacon melt was surprisingly tasty, hot, and didn't skimp on any ingredients. The French fries were fantastic, very hot (freshly fried) and perfectly cooked. Milkshake was a little thick, but I suspect it's prepared exactly as BK calls for. It also was a working milkshake machine...
The service: Honestly the part that impressed me. It's not hard to make food taste good and be fresh, but the service was exactly what I would hope for. The girl who took my order was very prompt, responsive, and calm. I didn't feel like I was wasting her time which can't always be said in drive throughs (and I have spent years working at a drive through food service establishment). The older gentleman (in a different colored shirt, so maybe a supervisor/manager?) who handed me my food and took payment was also very polite and attentive. Napkins and Straw were already in the bag. The one comment I might make is that I wasn't offered or given a receipt. I'm sure most people don't want it, but I think it should always be offered atleast. The gentleman at the window gave me a courteous goodbye after I got my food.
I came here because a competitor burger chain closer to me has some of the most inconsistent service and food I've ever seen. Unfortunately they're the only 24 hour establishment in the area so I frequent them often. At that place I've actually been insulted with cursing when they thought they turned their headset off, and that was because they thought I was idiot when I said "okay" after they suggested a sauce that's only carried at a totally different fast food place that I don't frequent... That place is so bad it's a liability to the whole brand and should be shut down and restructured with new management. There have been a couple of nice employee's there, but the night shift is typically extremely bad. This Burger King was a MUCH more pleasant experience, and I'll be making the extra drive during the hours...
Read moreIf I could give this a negative star I would. FIRST OFF I went on Burger Kings website and looked at their menu. I was starving and was located about 30 minutes away. My wife ordered what I chose off the online menu after staff at the Willimantic Burger King said they had the burger. I ordered a Rodeo Burger. This is what the rodeo burger is described as ON BURGER KINGS WEBSITE; TWO savory flame grilled beef patties totaling more than 1/2 pound of beef, THREE half strips of bacon, crispy onion rings, tangy BBQ sauce, American cheese and MAYONNAISE on a sesame seed bun. My wife drove 30 minutes to drop off my lunch. When she got there, what was in the bag WAS NOT what I ordered. Instead it was ONE SINGLE beef patty on a sesame seed bun, American cheese, THREE onion rings with a small amount of BBQ sauce. At this point it is too far of a drive to go back and return the food, but I did try to call the Willimantic Burger King about 15 times and not one person answered that phone over a 15 minute timeframe. To say that I’m disgusted is an understatement. For one being so hungry, pay for what you order and get nothing close to what you order is completely unacceptable. I believe Burger King needs to either train their employees to actually know their own menu! Or screen their applicants better! My wife did drive 30 min back to Burger King to complain, and the employee there states that the only thing that comes on a Rodeo Burger is beef, cheese, bbq sauce and 3 onion rings. Apparently Burger along needs to fix their online menu! I’m not done with this company because this is not the first time I have had issues there. I believe that Burger King should make this right and Comp my wife and I a free meal, definitely because she had to drive a total of an hour with the wrong order in her possession. Nonetheless, I didn’t get to eat lunch and am stuck inside for work. To say the least, this review is coming from many messed up orders from this dump! UNACCEPTABLE BURGER KING -...
