Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Windsor

DO NOT EAT AT APPLEBEE'S. Go to another steak house. Or Mary's Pizza Shack. They need to keep hiring forgetful employees. 1 1/2 hour goes by after we order and They are serving everyone else, They gave us our dinner for free. Another visit: we order a small plate of ribs. They send out a great big rack of ribs by mistake. So they can't take them back and charged us for the original small plate of ribs. Can't wait for the next big mistake. Oh yeah and the margaritas are a joke. Here's one: You get the big glassy thick cup that makes an illusion that you get a lot and it was mostly ice cubes. A few sip later for well over $6.00. I could of gotten a little more than a gallon of gas. And the worst topper: They have these stupid portable charge card machines and leave them at your peril on the table for when you get ready to leave. These machine are real pirates of technological progress. Not only do these machines take your card and charge you, these machine stick it to you for tips you cant even say 'no' on the machine. 18% 20% 24% and up. There is no option to zero out a tip or sign your name for permission of charge. Your pretty much screwed into paying "their" tip. Even if the service was less then expected - your stuck with this high tech pirating. And this- what you will never hear, "you are a valued customer, we'd like your stay to be a positive one", one employee back peddled to saying, "it's what the Corporate want them to do", after I had a complaint. The front desk conversation was like interpreting it as telling me - there's the front door, don't let it hit you on the way out. What ever happened to businesses asking how they can make a customer's stay a pleasant one? Instead they would rather...

We arrived during dinner and one section was closed. We were seated about 10 minutes after coming in. It took a bit to get our waters. The party at table behind us left and the table was serviced. Another party came in and asked to have the benches cleaned. They were told the table had been cleaned before they came in. The lady wiped off own her seat. Our appetizers came out. There was no spoon for the dip, but it tasted good and the chips were warm. Quite a bit after our appetizers were gone, the main course was brought out. It was alright, but the appetizers were better. Our water glasses were empty most of the time we ate our main course. The party at the table behind us had to send the soda they ordered back because the fountain had run out of syrup. The person serving our section made sure it was replaced. Someone stopped by their table every few minutes. We were pretty much ignored until we were finished eating. We received second glasses of water then. We tried to pay our bill at the table, but the card reader didn't work. We pushed the call server button and it flashed. Our server walked by our table multiple times while it flashed. My grandchildren love Applebees except the last couple of times. Went there a few nights ago and it was such a disappointment. We go there for the pretzels and they were out - 2nd time in a month. Also, told we couldn’t order any sodas. Put in our order for a bowl of soup, appetizer, 1 kid’s meal, bread sticks and 2 kid drinks. We got our bread sticks fairly quickly but no napkins on the table or small plates. I had to ask for those which took a good 5 minutes to get. After 30 minutes I had to ask if they forgot about us - our stuff came out shortly after. My five year old granddaughter even made the comment on her own how ridiculous it was that we had to wait so long! I had ordered blue cheese got ranch - since no one asked how we were doing or if we needed anything I had to ask for a few more napkins. When we were done it literally took 15 minutes to get someone to bring us containers. We needed 1 more but by this time I was so frustrated I just wanted to leave. In all fairness I had asked if they were short staffed and I was told no. We even heard the table across from us complaining.
