I have never been treated so horrible at an establishment until I came here. I used to recommend this place to everyone and now I will be telling them to never come here. The server was not attentive, she never brought out our drinks when we asked for them until our food came, which we wanted our drinks first. She brought out our food and I had ordered an "appetizer" of fries but ended up getting a tiny side of burnt fries, I asked the server if I could have some more fries since I paid an extra 3 dollars for them and she said that's "what I get" I asked to speak to the manager and he came out and I had asked him if I could get more fries for our appetizer since we paid extra and he rudely told us "that's the size you get" and walked away. My sister then ordered a root beer float to go and while eating it she said it tasted weird when she opened up the cover, the ice cream had green dots all over it. At this point we seen no point in asking to talk to the server since it took her over 10 mins to give us our change. And the manager was so incredibly rude, we will not...
Read moreWe came from out-of-town and went to Lakeview THREE DAYS IN A ROW! It's that good.
This place was Winona's First Restaurant in 1938. It's a classic!
I recommend eating in your car. But they also have some limited seating inside too. And they do have high-chairs available. On a nice day, enjoy their outside tables, which actually does have an enjoyable little view of the river and park trails across the street.
I haven't tried their entire menu yet. For a drive-in, they have a big menu. But so far, the fried cheese curds are my favorite. They're fantastic!
Of course they do everything well that you'd expect them to... Root beer floats, shakes, cheeseburgers, etc. etc. But they also have unique items such as buffalo and elk burgers. I think my favorite sandwich was actually the salmon sandwich. It went great with an Arnold Palmer drink. And it was light enough to enjoy the...
Read moreIt was ok. Alot more hype than necessary. But I did grow up in an area that had alot of traditional drive ins and still have the total nostalgic realness of one from the 50s. Including a couple A &W's, so I MAY be a little partial. Service was quick and friendly, the home brewed rootbeer was ok, the frosty mugs đș are always a plus, but like I said, I grew up with a couple small town A&W's :) No car stalls or speaker menus to order from, just an opening parking lot or you can go inside. Their dairy free, gluten free, vegan soft serve tho?? A 10+!!!! Still trying to figure out what it's made out of, but such a treat for someone who is lactose intolerant and can't handle a ton of any kind of sugar, I RARELY can get ANY kind of ice cream!! đ oh and they do have everyone beat on the deep fried mushrooms as well! Perfect coating not the cheap nasty frozen panko crumb...
