Alonso's Mexican Food — Restaurant in Winslow

First off, I want to say the food here is the "BEST" in Winslow they know what they are doing and I never get burnt or raw soggy food. I understand that prices have gone up and have accepted that in this time (2022) everything place has gone up and that's fine especially when the food is good. My three star is mainly for how my past recent visits have gone. The drive thru menu has new prices placed on the board with see through tape so this is where I can understand if price questioning is an on going issue. I bought the wet bean and cheese with sm drink $5.00 and upsized the drink for .50 I also got the breakfast burrito 5.50 tax would be around $1 or $2 dollars which is fine. The person who took my order tried charging me over $18 for it and I questioned this and her response was a bit rude "did you not notice the prices have changed"? The price is right next to the menu item everyone can see it. But she quickly realized her mistake and apologized and said it's 14.21 It still felt wrong but I paid and left but before I got to far I checked the receipt and she charged me full price on my drink instead of the upsized price of .50 it was 2.25 I got it sorted when I went inside but It was a hassle. Just check the prices before paying, pay attention I don't think the employees are on the same page as the menu is. All in all, great...

First time eating at this place, at first the service was ok I specifically asked for no onions on food several times, when I received my food it had a ton of onion under my burrito, I complained then a girl became rude and angry, the cook apologized and remade my food, the rude girl continued to give me dirty looks so I got up and reported her to her manager and she again began to raise her voice and become rude even after manager told her to stop. As we were leaving she started crying and said she was going to quit. I will never again go to this place because of her disgusting attitude and she should quit because she does not know how to work with people. Alonso’s was great! Although it’s definitely more fast food than a restaurant (set your expectations!) the service was really friendly and reasonably quick too. The portion/value was fab. This is a real HUNGER BUSTER!!

We had the carne asada fries. The fries weren’t crispy so after a few minutes they did go a little soggy. However, everything else was really tasty and the portion size was great value, the carne asada nachos might be a better choice. We also came another day and had birria tacos and a breakfast burrito.
