TLDR; 10/10 will most definitely go back and 10/10 will most definitely have Erika cut my hair again. Cannot recommend her enough.
The longer version (and this might be my first Google review and I'm not known for brevity, so): I make some effort to look like a functioning member of society. And I've been fortunate to have a decent head of hair that doesn't require much, really. So I've never expected much from a haircut. To me, it's hair. It has to be cut. And most times I get a "decent" cut. But sometimes I've received terrible, terrible haircuts. And that's partly why I've visited numerous barbers/stylists throughout my life, ranging from boutique barber shops to salons to old-school barber shops to chains like Sports Clips. And before today, I thought I HAD visited a Sports Clips previously. But after settling in, it became obvious that I never have.
That said, as long as I live here, I'm not going anywhere other than Sports Clips at Thruway to get my hair cut from Erika.
I've never been more pleased with a haircut. And Erika (my stylist) was meticulous. I don't think I've ever had anyone spend so much time making sure it was cut exactly right. In fact, while I was sitting there I realized that it may have been the longest haircut in my life. Not that it took long. I was in and out in a reasonable amount of time (even with the MVP treatment.) But Erika was methodical and devoted to making sure it was a perfect cut. And it showed when she was finished. Super, super happy with the way it looks.
But the MVP treatment? When I got in, I was told I'd be getting that free since it was my first time. Had no idea what it was and didn't really think much about it other than it probably being some gimmicky sales thing.
It's not. The MVP treatment is fantastic. After your haircut, you get a hot steamed face towel, shampoo head massage, AND shoulder massage. And it's ridiculously cheap. But like I said, being a first time customer, it was entirely free for me today.
So overall, my experience today changed my perception of how good getting a haircut can really be. In the parlance of our times, "it really do be like that sometimes."
Go to Sports Clips at Thruway. Request Erika. You won't be...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI received a half ass haircut at Sports Clips in Clemmons that team is mediocre at best not a great Sports Clips location. I went to the Thruway location right after getting bad haircut and told Kerry about experience and she finished cutting my hair to a great haircut and did not charge me and agreed that she cut more hair off , and I just went back to Thruway location and Sadee did a great job on my haircut and her and Kerry were so nice to deal with they are very nice people and are great at what they do I will always get my hair cut at this location from now on it is worth the drive from Clemmons to get a great haircut from an excellent team of great people if you live in Clemmons even though you have to drive into Winston-Salem you will not regret it you will come away happy as for Clemmons location not so sure about them you can try if you want to but if you do then try Thruway and compare the two I will always go to Thruway location from now on happy with this excellent team. Great work...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI normally have good experiences at another location. Today was not great. Check in said 7 minute wait online. When I arrived it changed to 75 minutes. I never would have drove there for that. 1 family had 5 kids they checked in. I feel like 1 stylist should have helped that family and some them back to back instead of making everyone else wait. I waited 35 minutes and gave up as more people came in that had also checked in online but were put ahead of me. Even though you check in online it should still be who arrives first is served first. Otherwise what stops me from checking in online an hour before I arrive and then just skip to the bead of the line. Watching people arrive after me when I also checked in online and get called before me literally 5 people in a row is not worth it. Change...
