Camel City Coffee — Restaurant in Winston-Salem

I normally do not do reviews often unless I have an outstanding experience somewhere or a less than desirable experience. Unfortunately I had a bad experience, I will not likely be back. I have been many times before and enjoyed the coffee! However, today it was my friend's first time going to the coffee shop here. I was excited to show her! In the past (maybe 6-8 months ago) they had a sign up that stated something along the lines of "Sign up for our rewards program! If this is your first time, enjoy a coffee on us when you join the rewards program!" I in fact got my first coffee for free with Camel City Coffee, and I thought it was a nice gesture and was satisfied with the overall quality of the coffee the few times I had been. A win/win! Today I asked the barista if the store still did this offer and she laughed at me in almost a villainous way. She stated the shop has never done that before as long as she has been there (even though I had the experience of receiving a free cup of coffee as well as several of my friends). For me it was not about being upset about not getting a cup of coffee for free, I was just baffled by the rudeness. The iced dirty chai from Camel City Coffee is one of the best iced dirty chais I’ve ever had! I didn’t go inside because I used the online app to do curbside pickup; it was quick and easy, and the employee who brought out my drink was so cheerful!

Caffeine and I have a love/hate relationship — lately I can’t enjoy it without a lot of anxiety, so decaf espresso has been my go-to. A lot of places don’t offer decaf espresso (it’s kind of an oxymoron …) but Camel City Coffee makes it an easy ordering option for their online order form and I appreciate it!
