Highlights:

Cons: -Cash only -Bland fries -Poor observable treatment of staff

Pros: -Attentive staff -Great chicken wings -Awesome sundae/milkshakes -Affordable -ATM w/ $2 charge

—

I arrived here around 7pm on a Saturday with my 2 sons after a FULL day at Legoland. Parking lot was full! Once inside, we were told we could sit anyway and chose a booth at the front. A waitress came and took our drink order and returned swiftly with drinks.

They have menus on the table. They do not have a kids menu but have kid friendly items such as hot dogs, chicken nuggets, chicken tenders, and burgers. I ordered kids food about 7:09pm. One got a hamburger basket and the other got a hot dog basket; the basket comes with fries and coleslaw but they didn’t get the coleslaw.

I ordered my food at 7:13pm. I got the chicken basket with double fries (vs coleslaw) and hushpuppies. I originally wanted a fish and shrimp combo but that’s not one they already have.

By the time I ordered my food, teamwork and attentiveness be effectively demonstrated by staff. While looking over the menu, there were 3 different people that came over to ask if I had ordered or if I was ready to order. In my opinion, this is a pro and con. I dislike it, in a way, because I don’t have a designated person, which is nice to have.

Around 7:25pm, another female staff asked we had ordered and I said yes. I asked for a sweet tea and it was brought to me promptly. I think this person was the owner or manager as I observed them assigning tasks and having a leadership role during my time there.

The kids food came at 7:27pm and they enjoyed it, as expected.

While waiting for my food, I observed some tension between kitchen staff and the female owner/manager several times. I heard one kitchen staff say “I am doing… (xyz) why are you yelling at me”.

Around 7:37pm, i let someone know I was still waiting for my food. Then I heard the owner/manager fussing the kitchen staff about my food and I honestly felt bad :(

I received my food at 7:39pm. It was very hot. The fries were very plain as lacked seasonings, including even salt. I did ask if they had seasonings available & was told there wasn’t. I added salt but it barely helped. The hushpuppies were average, in my opinion. The chicken wings, however, were SPECTACULAR! I haven’t had fried chicken in a wild and it did NOT disappoint ! It was fried perfectly with an amazing crispy and it was seasoned well.

I ordered sundaes for my kids at 8:09pm. One got a peanut butter one and the other got a marshmallow one. The server asked if they wanted whip cream and nuts. One said they wanted whip cream and the other wanted both.

They arrived around 8:13pm with whip cream and sprinkles (no nuts). My kid brought it to the attention of the server when he came to check in. The server offered to make him another one, but I told the server it was no need because he was almost done and didn’t need another sundae.

At 8:42pm, I ordered myself a regular sized strawberry and blueberry Milkshake. I needed to wait until my food digested because I was stuffed! I didn’t even eat all my fries. My shake promptly arrived at 8:45pm. It did not disappoint. I took it to go.

After eating, you must pay at the register. The checks are handwritten with the price, like typical diners). Unfortunately, that is when I found out that they ONLY accept cash or checks. There was no conspicuous signage on the door/entrance that indicated that. There is an ATM on site for customer use. It does have a $2 charged.

Since there were 4-5 different servers that assisted me during my visit, I inquired with one server how does the tip work. I was told that all the tips go on a “pot” for them all to share, which is understandable and makes sense due to the fact they aren’t necessarily assigned tables and serve all the customers. My only thought/concern was how it works for those employees whose shift ended and they left…

Overall, it was a positive experience. While management was not the nicest to staff, she was nice to all...

This is the third time we have been to Andy's and the first time we ordered anything other than ice cream/milkshakes. The atmosphere is kind of diner-ish and has a very nice feel to it. Although I must say the décor is in need of a sprucing up. The booth we sat in had vinyl seats that were severely cracked and the light fixtures hanging from the ceiling left a lot to be desired. Many were without light covers, and those that did have them had ones that were cracked or broken, or did not match others. Of course, this could all be part of the theming but it makes the restaurant look unpolished in that regard. That being said the food is absolutely delicious. We both ordered burgers and fries and were not disappointed. They had a good flavor to them and the prices are unbeatable. The 1/2 lb. burger, with bacon and cheese, with fries, was only a little over $8. The food alone is well worth a visit to Andy's. The only odd thing I would say about Andy's, however, has to do with their staffing. We ordered our drinks from our server and there must have been five different workers approach us from the time we ordered our drinks and got them asking if our drink order had been taken. Once our order for food was taken I needed a refill on my drink. This one girl kept walking in a circle around the tables scanning each table. Literally you could see her head and eyes move as she scanned each table. I assume she was looking for those who needed refills or had empty plates. She made this loop three times before she noticed my empty glass and asked if I would like a refill. I wasn't in dire need of a refill so I didn't say anything to her after her first loop and it doesn't bother me that it took that long, it just seemed odd to see her make loop after loop. During and after our meal while we finished our drinks another 4-5 people would still come by asking how things were. I guess it is good that the servers and staff care in that they always are asking how things are going but it seemed excessive to us. We certainly would not mark our review less because of it, though. Andy's is a 5-star dining experience and I...

Andy's Igloo truly shines not just because of its delicious food but also its warm and personable staff. When Dawn greeted us at the walk-up window, her kindness and sunny demeanor instantly added a personal touch to the experience. She took the time to chat with us, making sure our order was just right, and her genuine friendliness made it clear that she cared about providing excellent service.

One of the great things about Andy's Igloo is the choice it offers you can either dine inside, soaking up the retro charm of the restaurant, or opt for the walk-up window for a casual, outdoor experience. It’s perfect for those days when you just want to grab something tasty and enjoy the Florida weather.

Charles, another staff member, made the experience even more memorable when he popped his head out to give us suggestions that weren’t even on the menu. His enthusiasm and willingness to go above and beyond ensured we had the best options to choose from, making us feel like special guests.

The combination of incredible food, nostalgic vibes, and staff who genuinely care about their customers makes Andy's Igloo a standout spot you’ll want to return to again and again. The fruit salad milkshake is truly something special refreshing, creamy, and packed with fruity goodness, it’s a treat that’s hard to resist. The Steakette, with its chargrilled flavor, always stands out as a crowd favorite, and it's great to hear you gave it a try. The 1/4 burger offers that perfect balance of juicy beef and classic toppings, while the nuggets add a satisfying crunch to the meal.

With a variety of mouthwatering options like these, it’s no wonder Andy’s Igloo has become such a...
