If you are looking for a place to have a birthday party, celebration, or event, this is not a good place for it.
On 10/2/2020 I went to this establishment for my birthday celebration. My husband had called 30 days prior to ask the manager if there was a way we could make a reservation and we were told no, it’s first come first serve unless we reserve their special room downstairs that costs a lot. We just had 8 people, so we said okay, and we just went that day. My sister arrived first and she told the hostess we had 8 people, and the hostess kindly sat her at an 8 person table. Immediately following, 5 of us showed up, but my friend and her husband was going to join us later because she had to work that day. The 6 of us were seated with Paul, and got 50$ wine cards each, and ordered apps. When my friend arrived, she was greeted by a wormy gentlemen at the door who was very happy to share with her that they were at capacity and that “all these people” were in front of them. He was super elated to execute his power of 1 out 1 in policy. She tried explaining to him that we were already accounted for inside, as we were seated at an 8 person table, and only had 6 people there, and that their party was waiting inside. He refused to let them in. She called me and my husband went outside to look for them, and the guard at the door said if he left to go look for our people, he couldn’t let my husband back in. We had to get our waiter Paul to go outside WITH my husband to look for my friend and her husband to try to get them in and the guard man still wouldn’t let them in. In this instance there is ALOT of things the restaurant could have done to do what’s right for the customer, and they just didn’t. -the guard could have let them in, because my friends were already accounted for inside at our table. But he didn’t. I know for a fact that businesses flex the capacity number to help the customer if they need too, I do it all the time in my store because it’s the right thing to do. -the guard could have said, “I’m so sorry guys but we have a wait now, and we’re at capacity. Let’s wait out here for 15 min, and let me see what I can do to get you to join the birthday party inside.” But he didn’t. -the guard could have said, were at capacity and I can’t let you in with all these people in front of you, but go around back and the waiter will meet you, and you can at least go inside and join the birthday party. But he didn’t. -at the very least, he could have been kind to my friend and her husband, who drove an hour to come to my birthday dinner and couldn’t come because of the man at the door and how terrible he was to them. To be honest, I held back tears when it was all done because it truthfully ruined my birthday night. Paul did what he could, tried to give my party some free Champagne but that hardly made up for the fact that my friend couldn’t join my birthday party. We were also very disappointed because we had already bought wine cards and ordered apps before this all happened. So the restaurant got our money...which made me really upset because I didn’t want to give them any of my money since they treat their customers this way. We were a party ready to spend money and enjoy a fun night out, and left 30 min after the incident because the fun was gone. This place does NOT do what’s right for the customer. I will not be going here again and will not recommend it to anyone. They have lost customers and ruined my birthday...
Read moreLet me start this review by saying I do NOT enjoy bars or clubs as a means enjoyment. That being said I DO love wine :)
I’ve heard many friends and people tell me all about the great times they’ve had at the wine room but it wasn’t until my last visit that I found out for myself what everyone was talking about.
From the moment you walk in you’re greeted with a classy and upscale ambiance that makes you want to peak around the corner. Before you do, you load up a card (like at the arcade) with money to be used at the various dispensing stations. Once you’ve stocked up on a bit of digital credits you walk into wine heaven. The walls (which look like a fancy library) are lined with more wines than you can name or count and every few spaces stand out in a glass case with specific wines on display and hooked up to a dispenser. You insert your card and choose the type of pour (little, medium, normal) and the type of wine you’d like and fill up your glass.
As I proof-read this review I can see the text does NOT do it justice . You’d really have to come in and see for yourself how unique and amazing this experience is. What I can relay to you is the atmosphere, people and staff are enough to keep you coming back. The flatbreads are excellent and quality food to save you or protect you ;). The staff (shoutout to Jessica) are friendly, knowledgeable and awesome! And on Wednesday there’s a special deal where they match whatever you put on your card asking as it’s above $30!!!
I’m no stranger to winter park, but the wine room is an absolute gem! Whether you’re looking to go on your first wine tasting, enjoy a night out with friends, or want to sit and read a book, the wine room is your stop...
Read moreI never really post negative reviews but todays experience left me a little frazzled. I have been to the wine room many times. Today after brunch a group of myself and 10 girlfriends all came to the wine room. We purchased wine cards for each person and planned to spend a long time there. There was a space downstairs and since we were there for some time I ordered food upstairs and brought it down. There is a sign posted that there is no food service downstairs. Which I understand. Waiters will not be serving this area. I have done this previously and no one has approached me or my friends regarding this. Tonight a waiter came up and said we couldn’t have food downstairs. We all said “oh my goodness I didn’t know” we have all had food in the basement previously. We said we were sorry, etc. as we were packing up our things to take our food back upstairs the waiter said loudly Jesus f’ing (full word) Christ, Ughhhhhh, then something about you can’t do what you want, under his breath. We all said “Hey we are going we aren’t fighting with you that isn’t okay to say that” He says “ughhh I am sick”. We go back upstairs and I ask to speak to a manager. Which I never do. When we shared the story we said we understood that we couldn’t have food downstairs but we were complying with his request and that wasn’t necessary. The manager said when I found out who it is I will address it. I said I can show you who that was and he stated that would not be necessary. That seemed off. We went to go eat our food and the waiter was pointing and laughing at us. I honestly do not feel comfortable to return or bring any more business to this establishment and I will be making a further...
