Miller's Ale House — Restaurant in Winter Park

I would really like to thank Cory for having made our dining experience a true pleasure. We arrived just after they opened on 12/22, and wanted to sit in the outside seating section which was an enjoyable area with adequate spacing between the tables. I believe that Cory's a bartender, but he not only made our drinks, but also took our orders (and we also ordered food to go as well at the same time). If Cory had not been helping us, I would be only giving a 3-star rating. Cory could only help us initially, and then he was sent to tend the inside bar area. The foods we ordered to eat there, were missing the condiments they were supposed to come with, and so it took asking 3 different female servers to finally get someone to bring us the dipping sauces for the foods. By that time, we had almost finished the foods that needed the sauces that should have been on the plates to begin with. We ordered a significant amount of food "to-go", and that was brought out randomly which was odd (meaning some was brought out at least ten minutes before the rest of our to-go orders which were all placed the moment we sat down to dine). Thankfully, Cory was able to come out to finish our table clean-up, as he was having to do double-duty it seems, so I don't know what happened to the three female servers that never stopped by our table to ask if we needed anything (I had to call out to them for assistance). My family and I want to sincerely thank Cory for having made many excellent and helpful comments as it related to which foods we might want to choose to eat there, and also our to-go selections. So I want to sincerely thank Cory for his positive and cheerful, and helpful attitude that made our time there...

Really unfortunate experience tonight. We informed our server that there was an octopus and shellfish allergy, and upon informing him he told us that we had no fried foods so it wasn’t a worry. That was the first red flag. My wife insisted we stay and that it could be a different fry vat. Everyone in our party had a fried food (zingers and fries). We asked again if it was done in the same fry oil, to be told no it isn’t. We thought all was well. Our server had a bit of an attitude towards us after asking, which i get but its not something we can control, we would have ordered something else if they told us it was fried in the same oil. The food comes out, and the fries smell completely fine but the zingers on my daughter’s mac and cheese smelled like fish. That was the second red flag of the night. My wife was worried as her and our daughters octopus allergy is life threatening so she gave our daughter her french fries to help. We ended up asking for a manager, in which the manager came over with our server. We explained the whole situation yet again, and the manager had the meal remade with grilled chicken. I will praise the manager on remaking the meal. All in all it ruined the atmosphere of our night and the experience for us. It was very anxiety inducing to not have the allergy of my family taken seriously, and to be brushed off and given wrong information. There wasn't an apology either for it, and they still charged us for the food that they screwed up. The server was all of a sudden much nicer after we had the manager involved in our situation. Ruined the experience, will not eat here again. Update: I have contacted the company, am waiting...

Went here today to get lunch with my family and it was awful. We’ve been here in the past and have had great experiences so we decided to go again. It was my husband, our 2 babies, and my pregnant sister-in-law with her baby. At first, the host wasn’t sure where to sit us and we ended up picking our own booth. We were sat and began waiting for someone to even offer us drinks. We waited about 15 minutes for someone to pass by to and we had to ask who was our server. The young man who wasn’t our server offered to take our orders and then pass them off to the correct person. Our orders arrive and the correct server was still nowhere to be found. My daughter’s juice arrived with fly long after the other drinks arrived. When we were halfway through our meal, a young lady finally appeared and asked if we needed anything else but the other person had already helped us. When we were close to finishing, she came to ask if we wanted anything else and we told her no but my sister-in-law later changed her mind and wanted dessert so when the server came back with a box and the check, we told her about the dessert but she seemed annoyed she had to open the check again. While we finished the dessert, the young man and young lady were having a discussion across the restaurant in front of all the customers. On the way out, I asked the man at the host stand if he was the manager and he said he was the kitchen manager so I said how unprofessional and unpleasant our visit was to which the response was “We are correcting it now”, no apologies or anything else.
