Clara's Bakery — Restaurant in Winter Springs

Ordered a birthday cake for 8-10ppl with dulce leche filling, and fruit on top.The baker recommended meringue icing. When I got there the box was tapped shut and I snuck a peak inside and looked okay, icing maybe a little runny so I asked her if she thinks it would be okay for a 25 min drive because it was very hot out. I would have gone to a gas station and gotten a styrofoam cooler and ice to keep the cake cool but she said it would be fine. After I got home, I took the tape off the sides and I was so disappointed to see that the icing melted and some of the fruit has run off the cake. The fruit is wet on top and to be honest the decoration was really disappointing. Not only are the slices very minimal but they are not cut well. A $40 cake, I should’ve just gone with Publix. My mom felt so bad because a friend of her recommended Clara’s bakery. Maybe this was a one off but if you live far and it’s hot out, I would not recommend a meringue cake with fruit. After I called her and told her, all she could say is “idk what to tell you, I’m sorry…” no offer for money back.

Update: Even after putting the cake in the fridge until guest arrived the meringue continued to melt and all the fruit was off the cake. Taste was grainy and cake just didn’t taste great. I feel sorry for my husband who was really looking...

My son asked for a minecraft cake for his 9th birthday. I wanted his day to be special and also I didn't want to let him down. I found Clara's Bakery online; I read the reviews and figured I'd give it a try. The day I went to place my order I was greeted by a sweet lady by the name of Martha. She was very courteous and kind. She took the time to listen to my questions, concerns and ideas. Martha was able to incorporate every single detail into the design of the cake. Needless to say I (as well as everyone that saw the cake) was blown away!!! On the cake visual, I would give Clara's Bakery an A+! When it came to the taste test of the cake I would also give Clara's Bakery an A+! The cake was delicious! I don't think I will ever go back to Sam's Club, Walmart, Publix or any other chain company such as these.

If you want it done delicious, spectacular, amazing and right...Martha is your girl and Clara's Bakery is where it's at!!!!!

Ordered a cake for a gender reveal party on a Thursday and she was able to have the cake ready the same weekend. There is the one pro...... Cons: I have ordered from Clara for over 8 years and I have always had some type of issue with the cake. Either she didn't get the full idea of what I wanted or something is messed up on the cake decorations. This time around the cake texture was dry and the words written on my cake were so sloppy I had her redo part of it. I believe she is worn out and has lost her touch. I would stick with Publix next time or a new Spanish baker. Unfortunately she is the only Spanish baker I know in my area but I will travel to find one much better. By the way her shop looks like a scene from a scary movie.....needs...
