We decided to go to Trappers Turn for Christmas dinner. That was a mistake. Right off the bat, the server was rude. His name Daribor or something like that and he was rude and inattentive. We found ourselves bothering a very nice lady waiting on a nearby table to get refills on our water and coffee. One member of our party never got her coffee. The food was fair. The green bean casserole and candied yams were watery and runny, there were two types of beef and both were tough. The prime rib was doled out very cautiously. Finally we flagged down our server to get our checks. He dropped them off and I noticed that our 12 year old daughter was billed as an adult. The website stated ages 4-12 were $14.99 & 13 & up were $44.99. After ten minutes or so we were able to flag down our server again and I explained the discrepancy to him and gave him my credit card. Our party was split into two groups, 2 adults and the child on my check and three adults on my brothers check. After some time the server returned and admonished me that it was ten and under for the kids rate and that he gave us the kids rate anyway, but wouldn’t in the future. He gave us the tickets for our signatures and left before we noticed that he ran my brother’s ticket on my card (3 adults) and vice versa. We waited a while and he was nowhere to be seen. I was mad as a wet hen, so we just signed the tickets and headed for the door. I stopped by the hostess station and asked for the manager. An elderly lady was introduced to me as the manager and I explained that after enduring the rude waiter who neglected our table, he screwed up the check. She was apparently in a mood to argue and I wasn’t in a mood to back down. She insisted that the kids rate was for 10 & under and didn’t care what the website said. I told her we would never return and I left. A few minutes later my wife came outside. She had stopped by the rest room and passed by the hostess station as the elderly woman told the others that she didn’t care if we came back or not. So, if you want mediocre food, poor service, rude managers and at a price of $44.99 a head, this is the place for you! Otherwise stay home and order a pizza...
Read moreHorrible Customer Service! Back in June of 2015, Myself and four very close friends stayed at the Kalahari Resort and decided to enjoy three courses in the Dells area. We played Wild Rock, Northern Bay Resort and Trappers Turn. Unfortunately, the day we played Trappers turn, we only got to hole #3 before it absolutely down poured on us. After spending $427.00 on 5 rounds of golf, three of us decided to take a rain-check since we lived in the greater Milwaukee area and could come back to enjoy the course on a better day. That day I took a picture of my receipt for $85.40 in case I lost the tiny piece of paper they gave us. Today I called so make sure the complete picture I have of my receipt would work and they told me since it is not the original sheet of paper, they cannot do a thing about it and that I am out the $85.40 I spent on that round. The individual I spoke with brought up our tee time in their system and confirmed that we played that day but insisted there was nothing they could do. My brother and I were planning on coming back with two new players because we were excited to explore the course but, we will not be going there since they will not honor my receipt. I will continue to turn away as much business as I can because the customer service and tone I received on the phone was one I would never use with any of my clients in the real world. Is the $85.40 really worth more than continued business and people spreading the word about your company? The thing is, they are not even giving anything away because they have already collected the money. Where is the customer service these days? What happened to people trusting each other? To me, this is an absolute joke. It may not hurt their business financially but it will hurt their reputation. To have other great courses with amazing customer service as direct competitors, I would highly recommend you choosing one of those courses where they value you as...
Read moreMe and my wife just wasted our afternoon at the Christmas Buffet. After hearing from a lot different people how amazing the Holiday Buffets are me and my wife decided to try it. Needless to say it is a mistake we won’t be making again. We started off with waiting almost 15 minutes just to get our drink order taken which should have been a sign to leave right there. The food that was out was barely above room temperature unless it was in a chafing dish those items were cooked to oblivion. The dinner rolls had been out so long if you had put them in a sack you could have done demolition work with them. At one point my wife had to go and get her own drink refilled, not the end of the world most places but at $45 a person for dinner it is unacceptable. Also at one point there were no dinner plates to be found. When we asked for one we were handed an odd shaped bowl and told they won’t be bringing anymore out so use whatever. As we were getting ready to leave a manager came over to ask what was wrong since she heard from the bartender we where displeased. Her solution was pathetic excuses for what had occurred and then thought she could make it better with meal vouchers that we promptly turned down. Overall one of the worst dinning experiences we have ever had. If I could have rated it lower...
