I have been coming to the dells , born and raised in Wisconsin, since I was a child. I have never in my entire life at now 28 years old ,had a worse hotel experience than building 39. It was appalling to say the very least
For starters , the online booking “conveniently” wasn’t working. When I booked over the phone I was not informed of essentially any information. Not that there were multiple other lodging options, and I wasn’t even offered or aware of the fact that they schemed this in a way that didn’t give me any insight , option to stay in the resort that was actually connected to the indoor waterpark, confirmation didn’t even state my room number and customer service was unhelpful, and beyond disrespectful .
Upon arrival we didn’t even know what building we were in and frankly why because how could we had known with a website falsely advertising an experience charging me $190 for what I wouldn’t had paid $30 for, because that wasn’t even worth it
. We were deceived on the vague statement of “2-5 minutes from park.” Which could have easily meant walking from a big resort to the other side of the building to the waterpark. But it not only meant driving unbeknownst to me, but it was a 10 minute drive also false and not 2-5 minutes Their website had no info on the many other lodging motels , which frankly i would’ve purchased over the disgrace that this “hotel” was,at least knowing I paid for the conditions I was given for the price of the quality. All of the room types are under the same “resort” category Under resource directory , there are maps but no phone numbers to even contact the other lodging buildings. There was one number to call and I quite literally was given zero information on what I was truly paying for. The room conditions were appalling . The corners of the mattress had black spots indicating a previous bed bug infestation and or black mold. We requested the bedding to be changed just to come back to sheets folded on the floor and the mattress cover and fitted sheet with a multitude of stains was not changed . The blinds didn’t work, our shower was not warm whatsoever. Grout in the shower, a quilted blanket that might as well had been a sheet. We were told that the waterpark didn’t have towels, when that was false. When requesting for more we were then told it would be a 50 minute wait . WiFi did not work, outlets didn’t work . Frozen parking lot unplowed. I’d say I was Misinformed , but actually , not informed at all just like every other detail in this entire situation . I was bamboozled from the phone call of booking thinking I was getting 50% off the actual RESORT connected to the water park. When in reality I was charged $190 for absolute unacceptable room conditions
crusty hardened hand towels were hanging on the shower with some sort of fluid I’d rather leave a mystery in my brain to forget about, along with the entire experience there . Was told we’d have a smart tv. We didn’t .The website was not only misleading, contained no info or options we could choose from . No bathroom fan.And despite listing the long list of all the problems, it didn’t matter, because I apparently needed to take a picture of countless problems and disappointments in our room that you can’t even take pictures of for proof. Literally . The supervisor was less than friendly , and clearly had no consideration for her guests . And moving us to a room that was maybe 2% better doesn’t fix the completely below bare minimum condition of the entire hotel. I wasn’t given any partial refund for Our first room. But was told that them moving our room was supposed to remedy the state of conditions we had to stay in. I have never complained about a single hotel stay in my life and this was the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Policies are policies but A non-refundable booking shouldn’t cover situations where the room conditions don’t meet basic hospitality standards. I am never coming here again , and would advise others to stay away. Trust the negative reviews , because that’s the only true information...
Read moreIf you're the kind of parent who likes to play and interact with your toddler you should probably save money and just take your toddler to your local splash pad. Any water ride an adult can go on a toddler can't and any water ride a toddler can go on an adult can't. We stayed the weekend of September 15th-17th of 2023 so we only had the opportunity to experience the indoor amusements. There are two indoor splash pads for toddlers. One splash pad has a pirate ship with three slides that look like they could support adults. I walked my toddler up there to go down the slide. I went to go next but got whistled at by a lifeguard that I wasn't allowed to. So if you want to play with your toddler you're stuck following them around the splash pad and not enjoying rides with them. Not really the idea of family fun. To be fair they do have a sign stating the height and weight requirements of the splash pad. Also, to be fair this sign is pointed away from the splash pad from a way that doesn't come from any entrance and the only way to see it is if you happen to walk around the splash pad around that corner or if you turn around from being in the small gift shop across from it. We could have gone on the lazy river but that's not my son's idea of fun. Mt. Olympus, please review and recosider the placement of your height and weight restriction signs as parents will make choices and assumptions if these signs are not in our faces. We don't have the time or free attention to look for them. Also, consider getting more co-parent/toddler amusements. I also seen responses from Mt. Olympus saying certain information is included in links off of their website and confirmation emails. While yes you guys are technically providing us with the information it comes off as SKETCHY and SUSPICIOUS and SCAM from the customers point of view. Putting that information people are feeling mislead on up front on your advertising would make customers feel the "resort" is HONEST. When we first checked in the actual process went smoothly. No one told us our bracelets opened our hotel room so we were confused about getting a key card for a while. When leaving check in, I got called over by a guy who said I had to see him after check in. Just ended up being guy from another hotel trying to get us to go to an open house for that hotel. I don't know why Mt. Olympus would allow that at their check in. It wasted my time as our vacation was already planned out and this guy was sucking up my time as my boyfriend and son were waiting in the car for me. We must have got lucky with our hotel room compared to other reviews. I had selected a themed room with a bunk bed and one queen bed and that was delivered. The room was clean and tidy. We were in Building 10 which is the same building the laundry gets done, so that's probably why this building was nicer compared to others. There was a nice 10 min path from the hotel to the park. My complaints about the room are definitely first world problem complaints but with that being said, the TV could have been bigger, there's no coffee pot but there is a vending machine you can purchase ice coffee or energy drinks for $2.50 each. The room itself was big enough for two adults and a toddler but could see it being too small for families bigger than that. There was a door going to the next room. We had deadbolt that door ourselves as it was not locked when we first arrived, which is kinda sus, and gave us a little of uneasy feeling. The room we had was 211000 which happened to be located under a stairwell. We heard people stomping up and down the stairs and talking loud all hours of the night. Since it's a stairwell we can't really complain about it. We didn't change rooms cuz we were already settled in but if you get this room I'd suggest asking for a different one right away if you're sensitive to noise while trying to sleep. Definitely bring your own blankets. Rooms don't provide comforters. Much more to say but no more characters to...
Read moreFirst time in the Dells... last time at this place. I should of done my research like I normally do but this was a last min getaway that ended up being new years eve. Maybe if I paid a fraction of what it cost then I'd give more stars to reflect the price I paid but I should of spent the little more on a better resort. Or paid less for a better hotel in the area. First, it cheaper to book third party.. by $50+. So after talking to them over the phone about my non refundable reservation I made on their site, they refunded me. S I appreciate that. I decided to still stay here because of the family friendly NYE party they advertised. Booked cheaper on Expedia. I read about the lodging offsite luckily so I knew what I was in for. It's what you don't read or hear about until you actually experience it. This place is ghetto for sure. Fight in the hallway when we walked out. Drunks trying to fight during ball drop. Fights on way back to hotel in parking lot. It is NYE but other reviews seem to mention similar. 2 stars on Google ....I should of looked at this ahead of time. The drive to water park about 5 min away but then the walk itself another 10 from parking car. They save all the close parking for the ppl staying at main resort while rest of us have to park half mile away. Ridiculous when it's cold outside. Just park in the hotel lot. No one checks. The water park......ĵust reminds me of why I don't come to places like this..often. Crowed. No place to put items unless you want to spend $30 on a locker. We just used "up against the wall " for free. You would think their bathrooms would be large for a water park but I've been to bigger ones at the YMCA. One blower?!?! How do you expect people to dry off if we have to drive back to our room in the winter? The water isn't heated. The pools and slides mediocre. You are better off staying at a cheaper hotel across the street and paying for passes if you really must come here. You have to drive anyways but you would save money. The life guards need better training or to do their job more . Letting the recklessness happen means staff don't care. Means need to be better managed. I did appreciate seeing lots of cleaning up crew. The indoor theme park was like 5-6 rides. I thought I saw more but maybe they moved it for the NYE party. That was a joke. Especially as they were selling seating for $200. Nothing special about that anyways. The dj was at least good and I will give props on the confetti blast. The ball drop and dance floor needed to be bigger. Drunk ppl were making their way through and their staff did nothing about it. For "family friendly" you would think they be more on their A game. You still have to pay for any arcade games and rock climbing and bowling. The rides are only for little kids. Which fine for me since I have little ones. Don't expect your teens to be happy. The room wasn't bad. I was expecting worse but got lucky. Building 10. 2 queens with bunk needs. Tv remote didn't work. Confusing on where to go since this was a bigger hotel with no staff or map to know which door to go to so that was annoying. Got highest floor so no upstairs noise. Just loud noise from the hallways of people walking by. Overall, even though I got the 50% off promotion...i would of never paid full price of $400. Obviously since half of the amenities are closed it should already be half off but paying $200 was still overpriced for what they lacked. Even though it was a holiday, it wasn't worth the price tag. I was expecting a Great Wolf as that's the only other hotel water park I've been too so I was disappointed. $100 for my kids to enjoy the night then fine but I'm really disappointed in what they advertised vs the execution. I should of stayed at a less busy hotel chain and kids would...
