Update: Within hrs of posting this review, I received a call from the manager asking me to call them back promptly and within 24 hrs at the latest. This is after I spoke with them during my short stay 5 days ago, after Priceline repeatedly reached out to the same manager to try to negotiate with no success, and after I spoke with Choice Hotels corporate who also reached out to the manager who refused to offer a refund for any of the charges. So after spending hours and days trying to receive some apology for how I was treated and some effort to take accountability for the atrocious room condition and the rude staff, needless to say I will be not be getting back in touch with the manager just because I posted a review and they want me to take it down. They had so many opportunities between myself, Priceline, and Choice corporate, to demonstrate that they want to provide a better experience for their guests, like they say in the reply to this review. I am sharing my experience not for my own benefit, but so that hopefully no one else will book a stay there and go through what I did.
My experience for a needed getaway for my little dog and I at this property turned into a total nightmare of a stay. Worse than the disgusting room (picture of feces-encrusted floor and washcloth when I used to absorb spilt water) they first assigned me and the cockroach that greeted us when they tried to move me to a second room (no thanks!), was the completely rude, dismissive, and gaslighting staff/manager that I have seen described in other reviews. Unfortunately this was a Priceline Express deal and so the motel was able to despicably avoid any accountability with me receiving not $1 back/the entire purchase/fees down the drain, but I share this review to protect others from having their vacation ruined like mine was. I immediately approached the front desk after checking in and given the state of the two rooms they offered me, when they repeatedly interrupted a business call in a harassing manner implying I had a perceived responsibility to move to a third room after merely requesting a return or my daily resort or pet fees and ending the stay amicably, I had no choice but to check out as fast as I could. I know they will likely respond to this review with a inaccurate response suggesting they tried to be accommodating which will be a further insult after the unbelievable experience, but all I can say is run from considering this property and never look back. A cheap nightly rate is not even close to being worth it when there are so many other similarly priced hotels in Wis Dells where visitors could have a satisfactory, safe, and...

Fingers crossed Quality Inn doesn't dispute this and make the process more difficult and lengthier. As long as everything finalizes smoothly, I will update the review again. Verbally, the manager has apologized, promised the charges would be reversed, and offered to "make things right" if I return to the hotel. Hopefully his actions match his words. I will update at that point either way.
ORIGINAL: Fraudulent charges at a total of $300 after a two night stay at this run down hotel. I booked through Priceline because it was one of the only pet friendly hotels available in the area with a note that I would be bringing my dog. My dog and I came and went several times during our stay seeing workers and never had anyone make mention of there being an issue with our reservation. Upon leaving, I was greeted with $300 worth of charges on the card I left for incidentals. This was a "Pet Penalty Charge" from a supposedly pet friendly hotel, literally the only reason I booked this stay to begin with. To be clear we cleaned the room both when we arrived and when we left. There were no damages to the room or anything that would incur a penalty. My dog is fully house broken, doesn't chew or destroy things. He's an adorable old man who did nothing to damage this property.
Upon arrival, I found hairs in the bathroom, half empty toiletries that had already been used, dirty remote, wrappers from juice boxes, and little star stickers left from kids. The bedding seemed to be fresh, so I ended up grabbing a rag with soap and water and wiping down all the surfaces and throwing away the used toiletries. I didn't complain because I figured that comes with the territory in cheap hotels. When leaving, I cleaned, wiped, and organized the room, leaving all dirty linens in one pile near the door to make it easier on their staff to clean.
Imagine my surprise at my "affordable" hotel stay costing over double my budget for this trip all because I brought a well-behaved dog to "dog friendly" hotel. Pet owners steer clear. Quality Inn does not value you as a customer. Everyone else, do not give them a debit card or any card with a high limit as your incidental card if you choose to stay. They are scammers and will...
Read moreThis hotel is remodeling so we understand the areas of the construction.
We checked our room when we checked in and the room smelt bad and the carpet was dirty and unvacumed around the edges of the wall.
The pool area is being prepared for painting. The whirlpool had a hard slime build up and there was a 2 x 10 behind the whirlpool that was screwed to the wall with the screws sticking out about 1/2 inch. The pool was unheated and too cold to swim in it.
At 12:30 a.m. we called the front desk to contact the people above us to stop jumping around. 1 a.m. we called again and we went to the front desk and went up to the room with the clerk. There were kids and dogs in the room and they were jumping around. At 2 a.m. I went down to the desk again and the mother finally came back to the hotel and was arguing that the children were now going to bed and they are on spring break. The clerk could not do anything. 2:30 a.m. we were still awake with the thumping above us.
There was no control and we were ready to call the police.
7:30 a.m. we went to the front desk and talked with Jack Patel, Manager. He said that there was nothing they could do. I told him I stayed at this hotel using my points and I wanted my points back as we tried to enjoy our stay, but we were unable to sleep due to the people that were in room 208. He said he couldn't help me as he didn't have my points information. I went back to my room and brought him the copy I printed from email from ChoiceHotels. 12,000 points were used for this stay. He said he would only be able to credit me back 6,000 points.
We checked out the breakfast bar and it was minimal.
I have been a member of ChoiceHOtels since 2006 and this is the worse experience I have ever had.
I don't think this was fair. I would like to receive back my 12,000 points as did not sleep and this manager was the rudest person I have ever encountered.
Please respond.
