Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard — Restaurant in Woodbridge Township

One day I went to one of the restaurants next to Rita’s to pick up food and I was amazed that Rita’s had no line because they usually do and so when I went over there and went to the window the lady opened up the window and was so nice and made my chocolate milkshake that I’ve been getting from Rita’s for years. When I told her that I had to come because there was no line and I’m amazed because there’s usually a long line she explained to me that they weren’t even open yet and so basically she still made my shake and took my order even though they weren’t even open. Now that’s customer service!! They should have more hours (like 24 hours) available is the only downside b/c when you crave Rita’s other ice cream won’t substitute. Their milkshake straws are also amazing… (super wide, durable, and pink.. I actually want to order a box for when I make smoothies at home). The manager (I think Beth is her name) also told me to not be deterred by the line because the line does move fast when they are busy....

This Rita’s shares a Strip-Mall with a Chinese Restaurant and the Edison Pizza Restaurant. This particular Rita’s is housed in a former Bank so they actually have a Drive Up Window. The Management / Owners are extremely pleasant thus the Employees are very friendly. They serve up the typical Rita’s standards such as Italian Ice and Gelati’s, the Gelati’s are layered Italian Ice and Frozen Custard (very refreshing) they also serve a very good Frozen Custard. One of the newest things they have is a Smart-Phone Customer Loyalty Card, every time you buy an item at Rita’s the Servers will hold up a little card with a QR Code on it and you scan it into your phone and it records a purchase, you get a free Italian ice on your 8th visit. I am so angry I even made the purchase. I asked the girl for a medium cup of ice cream. She said there is no medium, just small or large. She showed me the cup size and I chose large. I ordered two large vanilla ice cream's. When she came over with the first one it was only halfway full. When she came over with the second one it came the same way only halfway full. When I Aster if she by mistake gave me the small size she says no that's the large. I asked her why it was only filled halfway, her answer was that there is a new policy on the serving size. Had I known I was going to get so little ice cream I would've had just put a small because that is basically the amount of ice cream I got. What a rip off!
