Smoothie King — Restaurant in Woodbridge Township

Smoothie King in Avenel is the best! I’d heard of but never been to a Smoothie King prior to this location opening—but it’s now become a part of my daily routine. The staff is always friendly and the drive-thru makes it super convenient. Even more impressive is how quickly you’re serviced when every smoothie is made to order! I hadn’t thought of SK in the morning until the espresso promo started, and now I start my day with a healthy vegan smoothie with a caffeine kick instead of an iced coffee loaded with cream and sugar. I’m also a big fan of the Be Well and Get Fit blends either as a quick meal replacement or a fruit blend at the end of the day. Repeat customers who utilize the app are rewarded with discounts and promotions that make you feel valued as a customer, and provide an incentive for return visits. The app also provides a lot of nutrition information and the ingredients so you can monitor your calories, sugar, and balance your diet. Eating healthy is important to me and I’m constantly buying fruits and vegetables that end up getting thrown away because i’m not home to eat them—being able to hit up the drive thru at SK has made it really easy to get those things into my diet and over the past months of being a daily customer, I’ve been really reaping the health benefits. My first experience there was 3/25, the place was clean & busy. There was a team of guys working that day & were very helpful. I had just ordered a large pineapple Smoothie, just fruit, ice, & s.all scoop of vanilla...I was shocked that it was $11 & change, but after 1 sip I was hooked...it was fabulous !!!! Well worth the price !!! I had returned on 3/27 for another pineapple smoothie hoping the guy who made my first 1 was there...but it was a girl team...after placing my order, she had made me a white colored smoothie which wasn't right....the original smoothie I had was pineapple yellow, not white....so the girl, with tattoos, after explaining the formula the guy made my first smoothie, she had added 2 kinds of powders to the mixture....which I didn't ask for, & handed me a pinkish colored smoothie instead with a slight taste of pineapple...Being very disappointed I had paid the $11 + . That wasn't right, I didn't like & left....the girl tried to explain that the pineapple was whitish because they weren't fully ripe....for a $12 smoothie the fruit should be on point I will only go there when the guy team is there because the guy got it right, fruit, ice,small scoop vanilla. I feel that I should either get a free smoothie or discounted on my next visit there when the guy...

Update: I gave Smoothie King (Avenel) another try and tried the Vegan Pineapple Spinach (without the added protein) and it was delicious! Very refreshing and staff were friendly. I will definitely be back. Actually, I can't wait to go back!

Original review: Terrible!! Went here for the 1st time and they messed up my order! I asked for the activator pineapple spinach with NO added protein in both of the smoothies I ordered. After I drove off and tasted it, it had a horrible taste of vanilla protein. I specifically repeated my order more than 3 times. The first problem was she only put in that I ordered 1 smoothie when I repeatedly said I wanted 2. When I got to the window, the girl was too busy talking and got my order wrong.
