El Ranchon — Restaurant in Woodbridge

Sincerely not the best place for a family or a special occasion. I had a party of 20 people for a birthday a very importan birthday my father on Nov 12, 2017. When I came in to this place, the waitress name Carmen placed the table for us and clean it with a quiet dirty towel. She then told us that whatever we needed to call her and not to order drinks from the bar but from her since she said in quote “That way I get the tips”. She also mention that Sat 11/11/17 the day before we went a family also went to do something similar to us and that she wanted to scratch them with her nails because they were asking for drinks at the bar! Like how does a waitress say that to the customers. Any who when everyone was there we had to ho and call Carmen because she was sitting down just like a customer not even paying attention. She came and suggested one plate that was $25 call Botana something that it would be good for 4 people bringing 5 pupusas cut in small portions, tacos, salad, steak, shrimp, etc. First of, there were maybe 2 pupusas the most, no tacos, the salad did not even bring lime. The most that feed would be two people. They had no salt or pepper on the tables. For napkins they had those coasters for the drinks. We did not even get any forks or any utensils and when I asked for some she brought those plastic to go ones and one of the ones for the restaurants with an actual napkin. Every time we asked for something Carmen looked very annoyed as if we were begging or getting stuff for free. Very bad service in my opinion and my family too. Not looking forward to going back what so ever. Anywho, we all ate and went over to the karaoke place and the pool tables were it was basically the 20 people in our group the only ones there and we had all gotten 4 buckets and beer and enjoying ourselfs when once again Carmen took the beers and basically stole them from us while we were still charged for them and she maybe thoght that since some of the people in the group were drunk that everyone was. Trying to resell the same beers, stupid seriously. So when we had started drinking we had asked for limes and we had to ask various times because the waitress was very forgetful and said she had forgotten just like she had forgotten to get us actual napkins, forks/spoons, plates for the shareable plates, etc. It might sound like I am going off on the Carmen waitress but its all being based on the service and how we all got treated. At the end when we wanted to cut the came I asked if she could bring me plate and forks and she said DID YOU NOT BRING YOURS? & I said well I have gone to many places and they provided for us since we are paying for all of this you know and she said I will see what I can do. I do regret not having gone to talk to the manager but then again he looked very busy playing pool and drinking which is not my problem really but it was not worth talking to someone who might react like the employees. So, we cut the cake and I guess Carmen was eager for us to leave so much that she went to clean up while we were starting to have cake and even spilled my fathers beer and did not even replace it or anything. We finished ask for the bill coming out to nearly $400 dollars and we gave a litlle less than 15% tip only because she was yet again not close to even good we left $50 and the way she looked at the money was as if it was a dollar or something we had left her and if that wasn’t enough. She went to some of the guys who were drinking from our party just before we left saying we had left her $10 and to give her more money. I may have forgotten to mention other stuff but seriously this is not the best place to go to at all. Sure its a big place but the service says alot. Also, not a lot of food options or drink and no desserts whatsoever. Hope this helps. And for whoever think this is false, sorry but I would not be wasting my time writing all this out. I was very excited to try this place, but sadly VERY disappointed. As we walked in the door the waitresses just stared at us, never asked if we needed a table, so I proceeded to walk in and grabbed a table. We waited for a few minutes and no one came to greet us or asked us if we wanted a menu. I looked around and the two waitresses that were there were only attentive with the Male customers. So I walked up to the bar and asked where I could place my food order. She said she would bring me the menu. After reviewing the menu I realized prices were higher than usual. This place wants to be ran as a 5 star restaurant, but is lacking in customer service and food was not worth the price. I have no problem spending money where is well worth it SPECIFICALLY when it comes to food. Don't be fooled by the "steakhouse and grill" propaganda, this place is far from...

The fish ( red snapper ) is advertise as $18 on the Menu ( not by pound ) the hostess told me she can serve me fish a ( Red Snapper ) but for $30 since the fish was big, my mom likes fish I had to get her fish. The FISH was OLD it was fried I don’t know how many times but it was hard. I know there is more than 1 fish at a restaurant, I feel as the restaurant did not want to lose money and sold me an OLD FISH. This review is just the beginning of my complain. I will contact BBB and report false Advertisement as well.
