I walked in during a slow period. One group of people inside eating their dinner. Stood in front of the registers for approximately 2-3 minutes before being noticed by the drive-thru worker. All along, the manager was in plain view talking to the cook, apparently having a great conversation.
As I was ordering, I noticed a line had gathered behind me. I order two cheeseburgers and two large fries to go. Everyone who ordered after me received their food, and I was left at the counter empty handed. I noticed my burgers were sitting in the bin, waiting to be delivered. 3-4 workers walked directly in front of me several times, and one wanted to take my order again. I said I'm waiting for my food. I felt like I was in a perpetual state of almost being helped.
Luckily, the drive-thru worker came around again and asked the cook if those were my cheeseburgers sitting in the hopper. Yes, he replied. Of course, now I'm the only person left standing there, so it's a good chance it's for me. But, oh no...they just served everyone behind me the last of the fries. I had to wait another 5 minutes for a new batch to be dropped.
While I waited, the manager must have felt as though he should jump into action. With absolutely no empathy, he places a wobbly cup on the counter and informs me that I may get a soft drink - on the house... Well, that's all fine and dandy, but there is a reason I wasn't sipping on a soft drink while setting up camp in front of the registers. Because I didn't WANT a soft drink.
After my wife and I unwrapped the burgers, we quickly noted they were cold and the buns were stale. We ate the food, protesting the quality with each bite. Our vigor didn't last long, and we each tossed half the food back into the bag and grimaced. I commented that I felt as though we had just went scavenging through the Wendy's dumpster for food that had been tossed 4 hours after closing time.
For the remainder of the day, we were both nursing upset stomachs. My wife was nearly doubled over, and I had mysterious noises come from uncharted territories in the bowels of my stomach. Curiously, the cheeseburger felt like it was lodged in my chest, as if my body was attempting to discharge the whole lot.
My wife is now in bed, hoping that rest would help somehow. I drank some hot green tea, which seemed to knock things down further - hopefully this expedites the journey. I jokingly brought up the idea of suing, but this didn't help ease our pain. I think we'll just need to try and put this whole experience behind us. I will remember you, Wendy's of Woodbury. You will haunt me each time I go to the Cub Foods next door.
Update- went in today to buy burgers for a family stuck outside and I nearly vomited from the smell inside the store and the restroom was worse....

Read moreJanuary 25th I tried to eat at the Wendy's in Woodbury for the second time with my boyfriend and it was horrible. After standing at the counter for 5 minutes without even so much as a "hello" or "we'll be right with you", watching the manager stuffing her face with food in eyesight, seeing same manager along with another manager and a crew member standing in the back in plain eyesight looking at a phone giggling, the manager coming up to the Register and ignoring the comment that was made about waiting so long to have our order taken, then after the comment was repeated claiming that she could "help us now" we decided to just leave. As we turn to leave she busts out laughing because apparently it's funny to treat customers that way. The first time we were there was no better, bathrooms were nasty and food was gross. Don't waste your time going there unless you like rude employees and managers that laugh...
