WDJ’s Woodbury Location...Disappointing! I was given my mother’s beautiful wedding ring after I got married and I have worn that ring on a daily basis every since. Needless to say it is valuable to me. The ring consist of a jacket with 12 emerald cut diamonds on each side totaling 24. I researched and read reviews finally deciding on this location to have the ring repaired and refurbished. Both bands of the jacket were thin and broken. 1 prong was broken off and some prongs bent...yet all diamonds remain in place. Upon initial visit I was quoted a price to bring my ring back to life. At that moment, I was ready to pay on the spot excited to have my ring wearable again. “No. Payment is taken at time of pickup”, stated the salesperson. That was understandable to me. The following week I was called and told to come pickup my ring. The jeweler was not willing to make any corrections due to the age and fragility of ring. Once again I understood. Hence, I asked if my ring could be rebuilt/replicated using the diamonds in current ring. I was assured that was absolutely an option as they are equipped and qualified to build custom rings. Therefore, I asked for a quote. Immediately the same salesperson tells me over and over again how expensive this process is. Okay, I would still like a quote. “Well two other people came in previous to you wanting a rebuild on their rings and they did not proceed because of price”, stated the salesperson. I do not know these people nor have I ever seen them. Their financial capabilities have nothing to do with me. Obviously an assumption was made without any inquiries as to MY price point. Based upon reviews, it seems that others have a wonderful experience here. Regretfully, I was judged based upon appearance of what I could and could not afford (as no other information was asked). I don't own any jewelry. I had never bought any jewelry. So you could say I was out of my element when it came to buying an engagement ring. A friend had gone to Wedding Day and worked with Mary Glasow at the Woodbury, MN location. So that's where my journey started. Walking in, both sales people had customers, but they briefly stepped over and offered me a bottle of water and said they would be with me shortly. I browsed around for a few minutes and quickly realized I had no clue what I was doing, lol. At that time a lady walked over and sure enough she introduced herself as Mary Glasow.

From there it was a pretty easy experience. She explained I could pick out diamonds, then choose a setting. Get all of it together, just lots of ways to go about this. I gave her my price range and she was able to show me a few different cuts and styles. She also explained the eco friendly diamonds which was neat to hear about. After a short while I actually spotted the perfect ring! It was one she had pulled to show me. I was able to stay in my price range, get a fantastic ring, but also learn a few things. In all I was only there for 40 minutes or so. I wasn't trying to go fast, but let's just say Mary was very efficient with what she showed me after I explained what I needed. She basically shrunk the store down to something manageable for me. Trust me they have LOTS of options and it can feel overwhelming. Mary is awesome! I went in to Wedding Day just to look around (sent by my - at the time - boyfriend, now fiancé), unsure of what I wanted in an engagement ring. I ended up trying on just about every ring in the store before deciding I needed to customize. Mary was there through everything and was very encouraging through the process and helping me customize the ring of my dreams. Not only was she amazing through the engagement ring process but even more so when it came to the wedding band. I knew I wanted two, so we played around with just about every combination. I picked what I thought I wanted, including a slight customization with one of the bands, but when I got them I really didn’t like the ring I had customized. I went to Wedding Day and with her warm welcome I told her I didn’t like the one band. Without question she took me over to the bands again and we went through them. I can now say I am extremely happy with what I have chosen and happy to have had Mary by my side throughout the process; coming in as someone who knew nothing about rings. She goes above and beyond and goes over every detail to ensure her customers and happy!

Above all else, she kept the whole engagement a surprise! I knew it would come soon, since I got to customize the ring, but I had no idea when my fiancé had gotten the ring/when the proposal was going to happen. Go see Mary,...
