First time visit to Grandmothers Kitchen for a Sunday noon meal after visit to the mountains.  This is small café style restaurant on the main street of Woodland Park.  Plenty of off-street parking was a nice benefit.  We waited for table for 25 minutes, and were seated within the suggested wait time, with tables are spaced apart nicely. After being seated, we had water and coffee delivered right away, but after that table service was very slow and only seeing our server on ordering, food delivered and the end of the meal.  Had to flag her down for the one and only coffee refill.  This may be due to the short staffed from COVID, or just the town pace.  The food was overall fairly standard for a breakfast café style, with Chicken Fried Steak and Eggs and a Denver Omelet.  A stand out item was pre-meal Cinnamon Roll, which was a light and fluffy roll with plenty of warm sugary icing.  The Chicken Fried Steak was well prepared with eggs as ordered and with a substituted Biscuit and Gravy for the normal side of toast (up charge of $1.00) – well worth the price.  The Denver Omelet was order with extra cheese ($1.00), but the omelet lacked ingredients and cheese is slices of Velvetta – a bit disappointing. Overall, the café is nice and the staff is friendly, with a nice selection of standard breakfast and lunch food choices.  Table service and kitchen is slow, so not a great place for a fast paced meal, but would return to grab a delicious cinnamon roll. Hint for visit: Enter the parking lot from Westbound traffic, otherwise you will need to drive around to the back driveway.  Plan for extra time for table seating and service. Get a cinnamon roll!

Well there has been a change of staff and maybe the cooks?? We entered the restaurant at 9:10am were seated right away but that's where the quick service ended.(we are locals so not our first go round). We sat had our drinks delivered quick enough but our waitress didn't appear. The table to our right also 2 patrons sat and drinks delivered. The waitress shows up to the other table and takes their order, we were there for 20 mins no waitress! She finally comes to us after delivering the other tables order and was are you ready?? Yes for like 25 minutes!! So we order, table next to us ate, paid and another person seated... We never ever waited this long! 35 minutes later tada! breakfast delivered. As I said at the beginning must be a newer cook as pictured there is fine parsley dust on your food. I wish they would tell you that. Not everyone wants parsley dust!!. Our waitress never came back to check on us or offer drink refills. What happened to Grandmothers?..The breakfast on the whole is good otherwise we wouldn't go. It's been a while true but health problems and my wheelchair has kept us out. Today I managed to walk with support from hubby. Like I said as it appears to be the norm, long wait summer tourist season or not. Give it a try if in a hurry go to Mc Donalds. The meals are a 2x2x2, eggs, meat and French toast or pancake. The other is Chicken fried steak, eggs, hash browns and toast.

We were on our way to get donuts. Grandmas Kitchen caught our attention, so we decided on a full breakfast instead.. we were pleased with this change of paths. There is not a lot of seating. So there can be a short line. But I do like that they don't cram in as many tables as possible. The waite staff was attentive and pleasent. I had the Country Scramble, subbed the toast with 2 pancakes for a $.25 add on. It was really good. It had waffle fries for the potato part, which made it a little hard to eat. Fried diced potatoes (what they call chunky hash browns) would have been better. IMO. My wife had the Farm House and subbed the toast with biscuits and gravy. $1.00adding. She really liked it. I sampled her b&g, very good.

The food was overcooked and sub-par (minus the house potatoes, they just need to actually cook the peppers and onions they thro on them.) and the service was worse. Server was not attentive at all and had a bit of an attitude with me because they charge more for their food than what their menu says. She told me that there was a $1.25 upcharge that would be on my ticket due to the increased costs of cheese on my, eggs and I was fine with that, but she didn't say that menu prices themselves would be different. They claimed that they had "signs everywhere" but there's nothing visible from the parking lot and I didn't even see a sign anywhere until I went to check out. The owner was a major smartass about how much eggs cost and although I can empathize, being rude and not updating your menus is not the way to go about things. First time and last time for us.

In response to the owner's reply... Sir, I cut you off because you were standing so close to us that I felt extremely uncomfortable. The plates were not empty. I left a quarter of the overcooked steak that I only had a few bites from then gave to my kid because she didn't like the bacon. I ate the bacon and her pancake (I was hungry and wasn't paying for more food anywhere else, but that pancake was tough and so was the steak.) and she ate some steak (which she also left a fair amount behind too) and the only thing she nearly finished was the toast. The ONLY thing that tasted great were the potatoes (minus the cold pepper and onions which were mostly left behind too). You expecting people to read random signs in inconspicuous places is absurd. You can afford to print a bunch of signs but not reprint some pages for your menu? Hell, even a black sharpie through the old price with new one written in would be better... You also have the option to make QR codes for your menu where you don't ever have to reprint anything. Update prices as needed and it reflects across the board for everyone. Sticky notes... I dunno, maybe COLORFUL, NOTICEABLE, FLYERS... Tons of options to make people more aware of the scenario... If you think my being rude in response to your condescending tone while HOVERING over our table (I literally had to lean as close to the wall as I could to get away from you) and explaining the cost of EGGS, then you should've heard your server going on about how people have yelled at her for the "1.25 upcharge for the cheese in your eggs" (her words EXACTLY, sir), then go on about how rude I was by interrupting you and explaining I've worked in the industry and I don't need you to explain the price of eggs. I should've kept the receipt that shows meals we ordered with much higher prices than the menu, as well as your random $1.25 charge for eggs or cheese in them, or whatever story you all want to continue to fabricate. You couldn't even think to use noticeable signs for unsuspecting people who've never been in your establishment before. Your high and mighty attitude speaks volumes for the business you're "running." 10/10 do NOT recommend. And of course you'd come at me to make yourself look...

If there were a contest for most disgusting food in Colorado, Grandmother's Kitchen would be a top contender. We were there for lunch on the 11th of March 2023. First impression was it is old, and not cleaned very often or well. The servers were kind and friendly. However, that is all I can say kind. After ordering we waited forty-five minuets for our food. When the drinks were delivered, the flavors were way off, and gross. The Diet Pepsi tasked as if it came out of a moldy old two liter bottle. If Pepsi knew their product was served tasting so bad, they would pull it off the shelf. When our food finally arrived, it was less than eye catching, it was like something you would picture a prison serving. We ordered two patty-melts, a frisco burger, and an order of French toast with blueberries. The meat in the burgers was worse than that of the golden arches fast food place. It was thin and flavorless. One would expect the bread to be toasted, but that was not the case. What we received was something that looked like it was used to clean the dirt off the grill. The flavor was horrible. DO NOT ORDER THE PATTY MELT!!! My son was excited to try a patty melt, and when he got it and took a bite, he started to cry, as it was so bad, and he was really hungry. He ended up eating the fries, and once we left Grandmother's Kitchen, we went somewhere else to get him some food that was not soooo bad. The frisco burger was equally bad. Essentially the same thing, but instead of cleaning the grill with the bread, the used the frisco bread to wipe up the floor. Really disgusting. The French toast was acceptable, but the blueberry jam used as a topping was probably the cheapest jam you could find at the cheapest store. It was blue goo. This was supposed to be a birthday meal for a visiting relative, and a good time. Instead it turned out to be a horrible experience with the worst food we have had in Colorado, ever. To make it worse it was expensive bad food. You may ask, did we tell the staff or send it back to the kitchen? The answer is NO. From what was served, it was clear that if we complained we would have been served food that the kitchen would have spit on. It was clear to us that the kitchen staff wanted nothing to do with serving good food to the customers. AVOID GRANDMOTHER'S KITCHEN IN WOODLAND PARK!!! Not only will it save you significant money, but you may avoid the risk of food hazards. There are plenty of other options in Woodland Park, go to any other place, it will be a...

Edit: Don't waste your time here, just drive right past and head to Mountain Shadows Restaurant in COS.

This business cannot handle honest criticism. They need to clean their establishment, their breakfast food is disappointing and their employees need better hygiene, plain and simple. Where a decent business would apologize for an unsatisfactory experience, they get defensive. Very sad. As you can see, most of their reviews say they USED to be good. Unfortunately not anymore. Very disappointing. And because we tipped they're trying to say that "it couldn't have been that bad".... I used to wait tables so no matter HOW BAD the food is, I tip. I take care of my wait staff.

Maybe if they focused less on arguing with customers over their personal reviews, they'd have a better reputation.

I was going to going to give them 2 stars but the business is MOM SHAMING me because their food sucked and they use fake eggs at a BREAKFAST RESTAURANT. Cheap. Disgusting. And they don't care about the hygiene of their employees. Waitresses with their pants dragging on the floor collecting all the unswept dirt. Dirty finger nails touching my cup of water and plate of food. 🤮🤮🤮

BTW I was having a fantastic day with my family until we came here. I'm from the south and they know how to cook a great breakfast.

Oh but remember after you get served FAKE eggs you can then ask for real ones!! 🤣 Ridiculous.

I wouldn't recommend ANYONE stop here if you're in Woodland park.

Oh and they're proud that they made an edible chicken sandwich. Wooow so impressed... NOT!!!!! The first thing my husband says is "we are never coming back" and while we were waiting forever, he said "maybe we should just leave" Well, I wish we would have!!

And how unprofessional is this business for attacking me?!?! It's not my infant son's fault that your establishment was dirty and your food TERRIBLE!!

The wait was 45 minutes or more. The store needs a good sweep, mop, and dusting. Looks dingy. They used fake eggs for my scrambled eggs. The host has really bad teeth, dirty looking hands and pants that dragged on the floor with floor dirt on them. I don't want to be mean but people need to be clean if they're handling your food. Tough french toast. Hard bacon. Asked for crispy hash browns, came not crispy almost raw. Other server was nice that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. will not...
