The drive into sonic is paved and kept in good condition. They do not have indoor seating, and have cut their drive-in down to less than half of what it used to be. Sonic has no indoor restroom that they will allow patrons to use. They have no handicap access features at all that I could find. We decided to use the drive thru, as we wanted to take our meals home, but decided to pull into one of the few drive-in stalls, as they had very few patrons and we didn't think it would be a detriment to their business. It took over 25 minutes to get through the drive thru who h was strange because they had very few patrons in the drive-in stalls, and we were the third car in line at the drive thru window. And now, sadly, on to the food. I had not eaten at Sonic for several years, so I ordered what I used to enjoy when I did go there. I ordered the Hatch green Chile cheese burger, and found it nearly inedible. The burger was on the rate side which was a shock because of all the contagions recently found in some hamburger. The tomato was wilted and so tough that I removed it. I also got some cheddar jalapenos which were entirely inedible. They did not supply the ranch dressing , and I had to request it. The breading on the jalapenos had the nasty taste of whatever they're using for cooking oil these days, and the peppers themselves were huge and so tough that I found it impossible to bite them through. I also ordered a strawberry Sprite because I remembered them having a large amount of pureed fresh tasting and textured strawberries. I ordered their large size, as I also remembered the Route 66 drinks there that we're 32 ounce LARGE drinks that they only charged $1.99 for and frequently specialed at $1.00 if the customer purchased a sandwich. The drink I was served was a 16 ounce Sprite that they charged nearly $4.00 for, with a small amount of processed strawberry squares that frankly tasted terrible! This made me sad, as I used to enjoy drinking the previously wonderful drink, then sucking up whatever was left of the savory pureed strawberries. My wife ordered the foot long Coney chili dog. It was supposed to be covered with red Chile and Fritos, then covered in cheese. The hot dog had no Fritos on it, and they did not provide the fork which is usually provided. She said that the Weiner was cold like it had just been taken out of a refrigerator, and had a waxy texture and taste. She also ordered the "Yellow Cake Batter Shake that is currently a limited time special there. It's probably a good thing that it's a limited time itrm, as my wife found that she was unable to finish it. Not because it was too big though. She couldn't finish it because there were hard chunks of cake batter throughout the shake, and the entire bottom was an inch thick chunk of solid, hard batter. She was only able to finish about ⅓ of it because the hard chunks of batter kept obstructing the straw. She finally gave up. We were also one provided with a single napkin that was placed underneath the food, and was too soggy to use. We had to use the roll of paper towels that I always carry in the car. I can safely say that neither me or my darlin wife will ever pull into a Sonic "drive-up" again. The entire meal was disgusting and very pricey, and service was terrible. I would highly advised people that if you have to pay these outrageous prices and wait as long or longer for your order, to go down the road to a different fastfood restaurant. Of better yet, go to a sit down restaurant if you have a few minutes to do so. You will likely not have to wait any longer, and be able to order a more nourishing and...
Read moreThis Sonic is notoriously busy, but they always do a great job!!! Tonight, was no different! Line around the building, but drive thru employee was outgoing, friendly, and my order was made perfect!
Updated August 2022-
Still great service!
Update March 2023-
Overall this location has not been an issue and I have had good service. However, I have noticed the past couple times the customer service has grown exponentially, just above and beyond what is usually good service, food is hot and order made correctly, and I also noticed the drive-thru is trying to be faster with taking and filling orders!
Update August 2023:
I wish service was more consistent at this location. There are many times service and food is spot on, but when service is food is bad, it's bad. There seems to be no in-between tbh. And ice cream machine is down. Which, tbh, I don't understand when half the menu is ice cream related items.
Update December 2023:
I just wish this place was so much more consistent!!!!! There are times that the customer service is spot on- and other times it is just terrible. There was no one in the drive-thru and no one parked in the "pods" and yet the employee told me it would take 10 minutes to get my food after ordering in drive thru. She was not super friendly at all, and yes, it took more than 10 minutes. Then the bag was handed to me, no "thank you," no "sorry for the wait," and the condiments requested were not included. I truly wonder how long this place will stay open up here. It's falling apart with customer service!
Update December 2023:
Myles has brought this review up to a solid 3. His service was fast and friendly in drive-thru.
Update February 2024:
This location has seen amazing customer service and employees as well as struggled. I do believe it is because of the location and the rural area surrounding this location in the county- I am sure it is difficult to find reliable employees on a consistent basis. However, I wanted to give a shoutout and a HUGE KUDOS because I have noticed the last few times (I come about 1-2 times a week for your amazing drinks), the service in drive-thru has been EXCEPTIONAL! Employees are quick, friendly, and professional. I wish I could remember the 2 young females who work there, but I do remember the male employee- Miles, who gave my pup a pup cup. This store has received a lot of flack online for its struggle with customer service (reviews), and I just wanted to say that I see a huge improvement and difference in the level of efficiency for this store. I am not sure if there is a new manager, or more stable employees, but there IS a difference and it is great! Thank you!
Update June 2024:
I am torn and don't want to knock this place too much because maybe it is under new management. Who knows. I just know that the times I have been there- the drive-thru has offered small pup cups of whipped cream for my dogs. This last time when I ordered food and then asked for 2 pup cups I was informed I would have to pay for the pup cup. What?! I didn't even bother to ask how much the pup cup was because to be honest I thought that was just ridiculous! Make a 35.00 plus order and have to pay for 2 small small small cups of whipped cream?!?!? I just feel that is so nickel and diming the customer! Learned my lesson not to keep giving this location a chance. Throughout the 4 plus years I have been a customer here- the service is up, down, up, down and you never know what you will get. Not worth guessing anymore with the prices and lack of...
Read moreOne star feels too generous for this place. I pulled up to the drive-in and hit the red button, the screen said "we'll be right with you", 6 mins later it was clear that no one was going to answer, then I tried the drive-thru. There were only 3 cars in front of me but it was clear that they hadn't taken the order of the car sitting at the intercom, that took another 7 min. Then I finally pulled up to order and was asked to wait, which I did, for another 6-7 min. I debated pulling away and trying someplace else, but I was craving sonic, so I stuck it out. Its difficult to put into words how needlessly hostile the person on the other end was behaving. I was polite and yet they acted as though I had done something to personally offend them. I suppose it was my mere existence. She did not acknowledge a single thing I said and instead barked "anything else?!", after every item. She blurted this refrain twice in a voice of irrational frustration before I could even order a second item. After ordering, it took another 15 mins to reach the window, and the folks in front of me did not have large orders, only one bag leaving the window per vehicle. When I reached the window I was greeted with "24.36" or whatever the total was, in the most abrupt manner possible. I believe the young lady's name was Aspen. I remember feeling disappointed in both her parents and the careless company that would hire her. We received the drinks and a further 8 mins went by before the food came out. In fairness, the food was good, but after the incredibly slow and disrespectful service, I will be taking a LONG break from sonic. These companies need to realize that people can still cook at home, we are not their prisoners. This location is like a metaphor for everything that's going wrong with this country. Keep your tater tots and I'll...
