Worst pizza I’ve literally ever had. EVER.
My person and I were driving to visit family a few hours from home and wanted to stop for food on the way. It was around 18:00 so to avoid the In n Out wait we decided to place an online order online at MOD. I ordered a simple pepperoni and olive pizza and my person got a chicken and sausage pizza with onions, spinach, both kinds of garlic, and a balsamic vinegar drizzle. We also decided to share a salad to balance out the inevitable pizza grease. The promised by time for our order was 18:28. The first problem was that our order wasn’t even ready until 18:45. The whole reason we came here was to not have to wait to get our food, let alone to have to wait longer than we would’ve had to at any nearby alternate location. We shrugged it off and went back on our way. The second issue occurred after we had gotten onto the freeway and started trying to eat. That was when we found that not only had they not included napkins with our order, they also failed to include a utensil to eat the salad with. Forgetting napkins is obviously a huge faux pax for anything you have to eat with your hands and no utensil meant not being able to eat the salad at all. The third issue came when my person opened her pizza. There was no spinach to be seen, only one string of onion per slice, more roasted garlic than there was chicken, and there was so much balsamic on it that the entire pizza looked brown with multiple teaspoon sized pools of liquid on it. This was upsetting enough to complain, but we were trying to get there before dark, and with the additional twenty minute setback, were already pushing it. The final straw was the taste of the pizza. Mine, though average in appearance, tasted horrible. Freezer pizzas taste far better than their pizza does. Given the situation, my person decided to try to her pizza to see if it was as bad as it looked…it was much much worse. I tried it as well and can confirm that it tasted like despair. The flavor alone was bad enough to destroy my entire day. It also made my person feel sick immediately. The disgusting flavor was worsened by the fact that the balsamic vinegar “drizzle” wasn’t actually balsamic vinegar. It was something more like balsamic vinegar flavored salad dressing which has no place on pizza as far as I’m concerned. The first few issues are reasonably excusable as they were busy and all that but the putrid flavor combined with my person blatantly not getting what she ordered is enough to keep us from ever going to MOD ever again. Nevermind the fact that it cost about $40 for this heinous experience.

Update: dropping to two stars after a bad experience. In my pictures you'll see a pizza with a bbq sauce swirl and a couple big air bubbles hidden. I thought it should not have been served after losing the toppings but would have eaten it anyway, until my wife pulled on something and there was a huge HAIR! Like 8"+ or longer. The food prep staff here do not wear hairnets or even hats most the time so check your food. My wife took it back to be remade and they did not even offer a refund. Just remade the pizza and gave us a couple 2for1 coupons. Staff said they would bring it out when ready but did not. 20+ minutes later finally got my cold pizza, which did taste ok. I have since gone back anyway during a lunch and did a make my own pizza which tasted very nice. Zero stars as of the hair night. Earned back to two stars after the lunch experience. Needs more attention to get back to top ratings. Staff are NOT performing like they were the opening month.
Had dinner here last night for the first time and we really enjoyed it. My wife had a good description for it and said it was like Chipotle but for pizza. I think that was fitting. Anyway it's counter order then tables to sit at. Pizza at 6" or 11" at a fixed price and you pick any toppings you want. Big high heat oven going so you quickly got the very thin crust slightly crunchy style pizza which reminded me of Italy but with American style toppings. Wonder if I can bring in prosciutto of my own and ask them to crack...
Read moreI had an online order that was supposed to be done at 3:15. I arrived at the store between 2:50-2:55. I waited in line with other customers because I was going to ask to have my pizzas made early. I didn't expect them to be done when I got there but I asked the person making pizzas if I could just have them made now, just as if I was someone there ordering to-go. He had my order on the wall and said he was going to help the people behind me and then make mine. He then did not start my order (helping 4-5 groups who arrived in the 15 minutes after me) until 3:10. My order was then not ready until 3:20.
I understand if I came in asking for my pizza to be finished 20 minutes early but I was just asking to have it started. Had I not ordered online, I would have been able to order and had my pizza finished like a regular customer. The person who I asked was also very rude when I asked if there was a manager working to voice my concerns. He told me "it's all on camera" and then walked away.
Again, I wasn't asking to walk out the door with my food early. I just wanted it to be made as if I hadn't ordered it online. I should have cancelled the online order and then just completed my order in the store. There really would have been no difference to the...
