More of a 2.8 rating. Decided on this spot after seeing reviews and the rating, something that has not resulted in money well spent as often as it should have in the city of worcester unfortunately. I keep hitting dead ends and wasting both money and tips (before even tasting food or seeing the quality when it's a take out order). Tried 2 pizzas, a dessert, an appetizer, and a sandwich and fries:
Both pizzas were too burned to really enjoy, taste was so so and not memorable, dough was very chewy. This was an overpriced domino's sized pizza that did not satisfy even the slightest. I was disappointed because I read that it was good. 2.2/5
The meatball parm sandwich was good in taste but was sloppily presented, and used the same chewy dough. However, it was slightly less chewy with the sandwich. Meatballs were good, sauce was fine. 4.5/5
The fries that accompanied the sandwich was not good at all. It tasted like the oldest and most boring selection of potatoes were used. 0/5
The chicken wings were so so, nothing to write home about, mention, or remember. Hard to say exactly how much I did or did not like them. I would say they were okay, too much on the borderline of okay and did not like. They were also on the borderline of cooked and overcooked. But, would I order them again? No. 2.5/5
The zeppoli was also a let down. It was almost good in taste, too dry, almost tasted burned but definitely tasted over fried. The white dip was okay/decent, weird texture, the chocloate dip was good. I almost bout 2 orders of this, I am so glad I did not. 2.4/5
For the prices they charge for everything on their menu, I expected much better and to get some sort of food worth the money spent. Food here was overpriced, overcooked, less than stellar tasting, and...
Read moreWe saw Olo on Phantom Gourmet and thought it looked like a fun spot for a family meal…pizza and bocci, sign me up! We also love Romaine’s so we figured this place would also be great. Unfortunately we had a really disappointing experience. We made a reservation and when we arrived we were immediately bummed to see the bocci area was closed for a private party. I realize that’s no one’s fault, but disappointing nonetheless. We were seated and given one menu for four people. The woman who sat us said, “I’ll see if I can find more” and didn’t return. When someone eventually came to see us, I asked if there was a kids menu for my two toddlers. I was told there wasn’t. No kids menu at a family friendly pizza place?? I realize most kids like pizza but what about a pasta dish or a smaller kid size pizza?? I asked if they could make a kids meal of pasta and meatball since they had a meatball sub on the menu and chicken Parm which came with pasta. The girl I asked wasn’t sure so she said she’d ask. She returned and said, “we can do a side of rigatoni and one meatball for $14.” That seemed unreasonable honestly and I told her we may leave since I couldn’t get my son a side of pasta. We decided to stay and ordered drinks. I ordered their mojito drink special and was told they were out of mint. Okay, disappointing again. I ordered a margarita instead. I decided on the chicken Parm so my son could share my pasta. When the waitress returned she told me they just ran out of chicken Parm…at 5:40 on a Saturday….so at this point, we decided to leave. Unfortunately we wanted to love this place but they seemed unable to accommodate anything we asked for! Maybe their pizza is great but we didn’t stay long enough...
Read moreFirst time eating 'Olo Pizza. Neapolitan style is not our normal go to, but we were in the mood for something new after a less than favorable experience at one of our usual spots. I ordered our food for pickup on the website due to the snowstorm that had started. The confirmation said the two pizzas would be ready at 5:22pm, and I received a text back they were ready at 5:17pm. We ordered the Pepperoni (Fresh and shredded mozzarella, thick pepperoni, and dried oregano) and the Ricotta which is a white sauce pie (Shredded mozzarella, crispy prosciutto, Mike's Hot Honey, herbs, and pecorino). I arrived right behind a group that was being led away by the only hostess at the station at that time. It was early in the evening, but I could see the restaurant was getting busy. It was only a matter of moments before someone working the food line helped retrieve my order. He gave off a welcoming and friendly vibe, which I wouldn't have expected from someone possibly making and helping with the takeout deliveries. That vibe will have me coming back to have a meal in person in the near future. I would have given both pizzas 5 stars, but while I enjoyed the charred outer crust on the pepperoni, there was more than enough for my taste. I think I will try eating a slice from crust to center next time I try 'Olo. The pepperonis were juicy and remarkably delicious. For someone that likes a more doughy pizza, the seasoning for both pies exceeded my expectations in taste. I look forward to coming back in person and eating the pizza right out...
