I had a good overall customer experience at Charlieās, however, Iām only giving them a three star rating because I think there are things corporate can improve to provide better value for their customers. Below are the changes I think would make this business much better:
No combinations - there were literally only a handful of combinations, unlike most fast food restaurants. No upsells. Most of everything must be ordered separately a la cart. That can add up very quickly in terms of price. For instance, my meal, a regular sized French fry with a āregularā cheesesteak sandwich set me back nearly $14 dollars with tax. As illustrated in my pictures appended to review, that is hardly any food for the price. Having a menu combination where these items can be purchased together at a markably affordable price would create a lot of value for customers.
Cheesesteak authenticity - Iāve had authentic cheesesteak and this just doesnāt pass the authenticity muster. My sandwich had pickles, tomatoes, and lettuce which made it taste more like a steak grinder, than a Philly Cheesesteak.
Decorum- I really love the post industrial, modern interior design they have going on inside the restaurant. It gives it an expensive, yet very casual inviting place to eat; however, thatās where the compliments end. The chairs are very cheap and made of some sort of plastic, metal material that isnāt durable. If youāre a heavy person, be careful sitting on one of those chairs. It could break.
In all, Charlieās was an average fast casual dining experience that was a mostly good experience. I will visit again for certain, but wonāt be making any special trips if you know...

Despite my previous reviews I still come to Charley's on account of working nearby. Recently I purchased a gift card online during the black Friday spend 25$ get $5 promo. Today I tried to use my gift card and it didn't work. The cashier said this is a common issue. While sitting in the restaurant trying to contact corporate, she and the assistant manager approached me with a free meal, apologizing for the problem and thanking me for being a regular. While its annoying that they close early (and they seem to close early less often these days), the staff are very nice people and I'm grateful for their remedy for a problem that wasn't even theirs.

They consistently close early. If you're gonna close at 9:30, then change your hours. Don't say you close at 10.
