George's Pizza II — Restaurant in Worcester

I was a very happy George's customer for over 10 years. In fact, I typically ordered from George's several times a month and always enjoyed it. And then, sometime in the last several months everything changed for the worse!

First, the person taking my phone order didn't have a clue what I was ordering. This was a simple 2 pizza, 1 salad, 1 pasta dish, dessert and beverage order which would normally take about 3 minutes to complete and pay for over the phone. It took almost 10 minutes; I had to repeat each item several times, and I had no confidence it was going to be right when I got it. Frankly, it was painful.

Guess what?? The driver showed up with NO pizza and No beverage! OK, I thought, they must be having an off night - it can happen. The driver went back to get the rest of the order and came back to deliver it.

Now, wait for it...without the pizza! I couldn't believe it and I thought "this is not happening!" I felt like I was Steve Rannazzisi ordering a pizza! Definitely Google that for a great laugh. Honestly, at this point, I'm just laughing so hard because I really can't believe it is happening to me. So the driver, who by the way was very polite and obviously embarrassed, and who clearly felt bad about this, went back for a second time and made a third trip out to deliver the rest of my order.

And I wish I could say the food was great and was worth the 1-1/2 hour plus wait, but it was not! In fact, it was so awful that I threw both pizzas away (something I've NEVER done before) and most of the salad which was rotten at the bottom of the container.

I gave them one more try, but it was just as bad both food wise and experience wise. Definitely the worst pizza I've EVER tried to eat. Such a disappointment. I later learned that they were under new ownership/ management.

I've never taken the time to write and post a review before this, but really don't want anyone else to be stiffed so badly. My recommendation would be to avoid this place like the plague - they can't make a decent pizza anymore and don't have their act together. This has been our go-to place for pizza for years! But Friday night, we had a friend over for dinner before she and I went out to a show. I ordered 2 small pizzas and a sub for my husband and kids, and ordered me and my friend a large BBQ Chicken with onions pizza. I heard him repeat it back on the phone after each item, so I know he heard the BBQ Chicken with onions. I sent my husband to go get it as I always do. He came home instead with 3 small pizzas (2 were correct, the 3rd wasn't even BBQ) and a lg sub. We called back. They made my large pizza and hubby went back to the store to get it. My friend and I barely now had time to scarf down a couple slices before we had to leave for our show. Whatever, it is what it is, but the kicker is that we were charged now for the new pizza that I had originally ordered! Another $16.50, apparently (and a bit overcooked)! And to top it all off, the sub (that we should have also checked before hubby went back, but did not....) was also not the sausage and meatball I had ordered for him, but someone else's ham and chicken! I know it was busy, and mistakes happen, but this was a ridiculous mix up. Any other place would be like "Sorry, let us...

Christmas Eve - Best Service we've had by a Pizza establishment EVER! Ordered 4 party sized pizzas - 1 cheese, 1 Pepperoni, 1 hamburger, 1 works.

We're not sure what specific thing we're most impressed about, but here goes. The fact that they are closed on Sunday's but still were happy to take our order. The owner said he would come in on his day off to make my families Christmas Eve meal. Insisted that he deliver the order, that we did not have to pick it up. Which was on time. (and saved us time) Brought the order into my house (we've ordered from this place and was familiar with the owner/delivery person), and opened each box to make sure the order was right. The Pizza's arrived hot from the oven and tasted perfect. My family and friends asked us many times where we ordered it from. They loved all the pizza's and asked to let them take some home. We usually cook or pot luck our Christmas Eve dinner, but decided to change it up this year, and go with something everyone would enjoy. We are so glad we did. It was awesome party pizza - thin and crispy, tangy sauce, and toppings were flavorful. Thank you George's Pizza II for making our Holiday...
