On a work trip and had really been wanting a Japanese/Chinese buffet. Well what better than right next to my hotel. So I ventured over there. When I first arrived I seen a sign that said please wait to be seated so I did. After about 5 minutes someone came up (after multiple employees were done getting their plates of food from the buffet). The first person took me half way to a booth and then handed me off so they could go get food. Actually heard tell the other guy that he was busy getting food so seat me somewhere. I proceeded to order my soft drink and then head up to the buffet. I got my first plate and everything was mediocre warm at best. The chicken fried rice was not normal chicken fried rice as it had some sort of weird sweetness to it. The chicken fried rice was not normal chicken fried rice as it had some sort of weird sweetness to it. I got just plain breaded chicken and I don’t know if they somehow mixed flavors of food or what but I took a bite out of a few different pieces and thought I was breathing fire when it was just supposed to be plain breaded chicken for sweet-and-sour chicken. The teriyaki chicken on a stick was so hard that you could not even chew it. Lo mein noodles were dry, cold and flavorless. The potstickers were cold and mushy. Everything else I looked at on the buffet looked like it had been sitting since lunch time. Not once did I see anyone come out and refill anything. About the only half way decent thing I had was the cherry jello. I had to ask 3 times for a drink refill. And last, but not least the price was high for what you got as it was just shy of $21 for one person. Also found it quite gross/disturbing that an employee was playing on their phone and then messing with food on the buffet. Definitely disappointed and would never return. Do yourself a favor and save your money and...
Read moreHorrible experience here. Other customer ruined my daughter's day. My granddaughter is special needs and has some separation anxiety. Qhen my dad and I went to get more food, leaving her at the table with my daughter as she was still eating, my granddaughter started to get upset and was crying. This is normal for my granddaughter to have a few meltdowns a day, some worse than others. This was a mild one. I didnt even hear her when i was getting my food.
The man sitting at the table next to us had the audacity to tell my daughter she needed to take my granddaughter outside because she was ruining his dinner. Told my Daughter she was a horrible parent. My daughter told him to mind his own business and stay out of hers. This whole scene happened quietly as my dad or I did not hear it go on. Good thing we didn't.
Apparently the staff heard it, did nothing. And when we were done failed to bring our check so my dad went to go up and pay. He told the cashier, they didn't bring our check and he wanted to pay. The cashier told him, rudely, I know who you are and hurried up to get him cashed out, then says " i guess she is crabby today."
Ill never go back. Rude customers and rude staff.
Food was ok. Nothing special. If you like seafood there was a large variety. Unfortunately, my dad and I are allergic to seafood so it would have been better if the dishes were clearly marked as having seafood or not. Not sure why other people have such good reviews of the food. It was...
Read moreThe food was good, I just think it was a little pricey for the quality, but I understand the prices no matter where you go are going to be outrageous nowadays.
The real reason for this review was the service! One server in particular, who was also our server. I don't recall her name, but she looked young, she had brown hair in a bun with blonde pieces in the front. Tattoos. She was very sweet and prompt for us, but an incident happened while we there as well that she handled amazingly!! An elderly woman had fallen while my daughter and I were at the buffet. Myself and another gentleman went to her and helped her get up. Immediately after she stood up, the server had rushed over, asked what happened, and came to the woman's aid. I heard the server say "I can hold your hand" as she took her to a table and helped her so she didn't fall again.
I was so sad this happened to the elderly woman(and most everyone just stared and didn't come to help) but I saw this server taking wonderful care of her and making sure she was ok and it made me feel so much better. I work with the elderly and have for several years. This server did a wonderful job, and I saw her checking on the woman several times and you could tell she was doing it with kindness and compassion. It goes to show there are still good people out there. This young woman is one of them! You have a 5 star employee at your restaurant Tokyo Buffet...
