Pop's Smokehouse — Restaurant in Yellowhill Community

Sign on the door said that it is temporarily at the Tomahawk Toss next door. Went into the Tomahawk Toss. Music was inappropriate for a family/restaurant atmosphere. It was more like a dive bar. We went ahead and ordered anyway. Decided to give it a chance based on past reviews. We should not have. I got the 2 meat platter with the Burnt ends, pulled pork, baked beans, onion rings and hush puppies. My wife got the all American burger. It comes from next door in to go containers, and plastic cutlery. For these prices? The Burnt ends were just okay and very fatty. The pulled pork was fine. The onion rings were room temp, greasy and the batter was falling off. The baked beans were room temp and had very little flavor. The hush puppies were fine, but usually they are served with butter or margarine. No butter or margarine served with them. The All American Burger. It came out super hot, to the point it almost burned my wife's tongue. It was very overcooked, no taste or seasoning. The American cheese tasted like knock off/store brand Kraft singles. We gave this place a try and they didn't disappoint. We sat and was greeted. Got served water right off. Then drinks if we wanted something from the bar or sodas. Our waitress was one of the owners. I think he name was kristin or christina. We loved Christina.. they had no music going but when we played ours on our phone they offered us to play it on there speaker. We played cards while we waited for our food. We didn't mind the Togo boxes cause I never finish mine. I got the brisket plate, i was melt in your mouth amazing. Onion rings were amazing, the batter was like outback. Mac and cheese was also great and I've loved the baked beans. And I'm picky. My nephew got the smoked wings Abba my niece got the smoked pork sandwich, and my daughter got the brisket sandwich with collard greens, and they all got the fried corn on the cob. Oh my Goodness! I think the food was hands down the best I have had in a very long time. Every single thing that I put in my mouth was bangin'! My husband had the blackened catfish. I had the sausage and brisket my niece had fried catfish. We tried the best mac-n-cheese and the coleslaw thanks to the chef. The onion rings are fabulous. The sausage will make you cross your eyes it's so good! The brisket and wings...Dance in your seat good. I have not decided if this is BBQ witchery or food porn but we are all in. Soooooo good!
