Ken’s Diner — Restaurant in Youngtown

Omgoooodness i am so picky and hard to please when it comes to my food especially my breakfast food almost everywhere i eat from mcdonalds to olive garden they mess up my order this place has the most outstanding staff from cooks to servers to owner super great attitudes and they truly aim to please when i first walked in i was the youngest and a minority not to mention and honestly didn't know what to expect it was so packed with seniors i figured like everywhere else like this id get the cold shoulder but quite the contrary instead of waiting so long they politely asked if i would be willing to join another gentleman named Doug who was also dining Alone so that we could get eating it was the best first experience I've ever had he was great conversation and like the staff non judgemental and very genuinely polite the food especially the biscuits and gravy were the best I've ever had in 32 states in fact i was so pleased i paid for Doug's meal along with my own. Not only did he thank me but so did the staff! I honestly don't know why there isn't 10 locations! I wish i could eat here24/7 the prices are so very affordable for the quality food you are served no complaints what so ever! Thank you Brendas Kitchen...

I so badly want to give this place 5 stars, but I had an experience the other day that ruined the chance of that happening. Let me preface this by saying that one server, Chelsea, is absolutely wonderful. She's attentive and kind, and never pushy. However the other server, an older lady who's name I didn't get, was not so great. With only 3 tables to serve, she managed to leave us waiting longer than we would at a packed Saturday night at Olive Garden. She forgot some of our order, and was quick to bring us the bill but slow to even acknowledge us while we waited to ask for take-home boxes. I met her eyes multiple times with a raised hand and she turned away, once to continue eating her own food at the counter, and another time to walk away from the diner floor and head to the kitchen. Now, let me wrap this up by saying one thing; The food here is absolutely the best I've had in a long while. The prices fall well within reasonable and the quality is fantastic. A hidden gem, a hole in the wall, a great experience hiding unless you go out and find it! This place is a delightful establishment!

The staff is the first to be complimented. I have been here over 10x and each time we will either have the same server, or a different one. Either way none of them dissapoint and are always so courteous, funny, and respectful.

The environment is one to enjoy IF YOU HAVE A SENSE OF HUMOR. You'll just need to go in and find out for yourself on exactly what I mean.

Now for the food. Fish fry Friday is our normal day to visit. Absolutely delicious and good quantity of food! Not badly priced as well. But for the rest of the menu, I've had burgers, sandwiches, most breakfast items, and even some of their dinner items. None have disappointed.

The only con I have is this place isn't BIGGER!! They get very busy and it causes a long wait. But they're very quick with bussing tables and getting you seated ASAP.
