I would avoid getting an after market screen from this third party fixer. You can get a screen from Best Buy that cost 312$ that is Apple certified. Which is almost the same price as the after market OLED screens Mobile X sells. I was sold on the more expensive OLED screen instead of the cheaper LCD screen because it was said that the battery last longer/better quality. The âmore expensiveâ after market screen glows blue light, the darks are not as vibrant and it drains the battery way more than the apple parts. I called the tech that fixed my phone and he said it was normal. To me itâs worth the extra 50$ to buy and Apple certified part from Best Buy, which I wish I knew prior to purchase, usually third party phone fixing places are a lot cheaper, but in this case they are not.
In response to your reply: It is hard to diagnose these things in your store before signing the release form. for one, it is bright in your store, hard to see the black light of the phone until your in a dark room and as far as battery goes thatâs self explanatory that it takes some time. I called the day after the instal, all it took was 8 hours for me to realize this is not a quality part. (Referring to the second install) thatâs when the tech told me unless itâs broken you wonât do anything, that aftermarket OLED screens are lower quality, and that there was nothing you would do for the quality of the partâŠ. Only if it was not functioning! my first install had a broken pixel, which you replaced your first fix with another screen⊠the screen you replaced that with is not a quality part⊠Plane and simple, which forced me to look at what parts cost from an Apple supported company, and to my surprise it was almost the same amount you charge for an after market low quality screen. Something doesnât add up, I didnât even think to look for an Apple supported company because with my experience it was always cheaper to go with a third partyâŠ. In this case, I payed almost the same for an after market screen as Best Buy would charge for an Apple screen. I met Mike who diagnosed and then fixed my problem. Mike went out of his way to get me a new battery after having it shipped overnight. This brings me to today when because of my earlier experience at Mobile X Repair I decided to get a new screen protector installed. Mike never does anything until he offers a free full check-up of the cell phone that is brought in. Since I had the phone worked up on just 3 weeks ago I didn't think it was necessary to have it checked again. Mike said, "This is a free check-up so let me do it." While doing the check-up Mike asked me questions. Through these questions Mike taught me how to check for things that were causing my phone to work harder than necessary thus shortening the life of my battery.
I conclude by saying you can't find a better place to take your mobile devices. I would like to add to this review by stating my wife's Galaxy S-23 battery became enlarged causing the back of her phone to bulge. Mike told us that the condition of the battery could cause a fire and needed to be removed. Once again he ordered a battery to be overnighted and went through the same process as explained above. The team demonstrated excellent technical skills and communication throughout the process. They kept me informed at every step, explaining the issue with my device and the required solution in a clear and professional manner.
There was, however, a hiccup when it came to the delivery of a necessary part. A third-party delivery company was expected to provide the part within 48 hours, but unfortunately, that timeline was not met. While this delay was outside the store's direct control, it did create an inconvenience.
