I always frequented the restaurant and paid for everything I ordered. About three weeks or I left my bag on the bus with most of my money in it. I had already called my order in, so I didn't want to not go, even though I was about $1.75 short. I tried to explain to Mike, the owner and he knows who I am that I left my bag, so just give me what I had enough for. He took my eight bucks and says, next time bring enough money. I was appalled. I told him to give me my money back, but the midget money hungry little man wouldn't and I had to try to beat the bus to get my bag. Vicki is the day manager and she says, his actions towards me embarrassed her and she knows I never come lacking .I broke down and went there on yesterday, because theit prices are reasonable. Big frickin mistake. I ordered extra well done wings and two fries. When I got home Mike had cooked my food in reverse...My wings were just done and my fries were burrrrrrrrned. He's the most ignorant little short white man I've encountered. I am clear on not to ever go there again. He's an ole hillbilly racist. Trashy. Mad about me being black, but...
Read moreA true Ypsilanti classic. I always loved going here for a burger and fries, Mike was always so kind to me. One summer I had an internship selling coupons, it was in the middle of the market crash (2009) I made 10% commission on each meager sale - Mike was the hardest sell of them all. Each week he'd say he wasn't interested and each week I'd come back and try again. But he'd always sit down with me, hear my spiel, reject my offer and then invite me to a burger and some onion rings. He didn't know how destitute I was. He didn't know that I was an independent student, interning in the morning, bartending at night, and going to school during the day. He didn't know about the eviction warnings posted on my door each month because rent was always a week behind. He didn't know that burger was often the only meal I would eat that day. He did eventually agree to run an ad with me, but not before he told me I would be held personally accountable if it didn't draw in the college crowd. It's been nearly a decade since then, but I'm still grateful for those burgers and...
Read moreGreat local Burger Joint Service at this place is exceptional. It is primarily known for it's burgers, but I don't eat red meat. My companions however were quite impressed with these. I have had both their shrimp and their fish sandwich at various times, despite their obvious distance from the sea, these were both very good...especially for a burger joint. The shrimp were a decent size and the fish was not coated in extra layers of breading. Both were presented well with fresh condiments. The onion rings were the best I've had in years. They also always have a fresh soup. Don't go here for "healthy" food, but if you are a burger person, or if you just like to occasionally indulge your craving for fried anything, this is the place. It is also the place if you support locally owned small business. Becky Fox, one of the owners is one of the most delightful people you will ever meet...
