My husband and I stopped in on our way through town on a road trip. We'll definitely be back.
We're vegetarian and they had a variety of veggie options, freshly prepared and cooked well. This was exciting because usually there are only 1 or maybe 2 papusa options.
The service was respectful and prompt. We were really glad to find a sit-down place that was quick on our drive. The atmosphere was peaceful and displayed some beautiful Salvadoran artwork too.
If you don't know what papusas are or haven't had them before, this is a great introduction! The staff were friendly and we recommend asking them about their food. They have informative blurbs in their menu and you can also look stuff up online.
The lunch specials were a great deal and provided plenty of food.
The horchata was tasty and not too sweet, and their house ice tea was very refreshing. The plantains were cooked perfectly and the tamals (not tamales) were delicious! We'd never had them before, so that was a nice treat.
Highly recommend! Will definitely be back when we make this drive several...
Read moreDriving through town around lunch we decided to order ahead. So glad we did! The outside was a little off putting (it's attached to a so so hotel and outside paint seems a little outdated). The inside is freshly painted with a lot of beautiful Salvadorian items. Everything looks fresh. It comes with something I can only describe as like, a combination of kimchi and cole slaw- fermented spicy cabbage to put in the pupusas. Very delicious! It looks like they had jamaica (hibiscus refresher) and horchata (cinnamon rice milk)....
