Relax Inn Motel — Hotel in Yreka

The room we were in had a cute little rustic vibe to it. It's an older motel that's not without issues you'd expect at an older motel, but the rooms were clean and quite. We stayed here because the price was great, and the management / owners opened up late so we could get a room for the night. WiFi worked great, most of the room was great. Bathroom had an older look but that's fine. We didn't want to pay for something new and ritzy so this was exactly what we wanted: an inexpensive, clean safe place to stay while traveling. One of the bedside lamps didn't work, I'm not sure if it was just unplugged or if the bulb was burnt out and I was too tired from driving to check. But every other light in the room worked so that was fine. Room was quite and clean, my family and I had no problem sleeping. Bed was comfy and the mini fridge and microwave. We'd have no problems staying here again, especially for the price. The price was the main reason we chose to stay here, and as long as they continue to have a great prices will probably continue to stay here when passing...

Horrible customer service is the main reason for this review. We had 2 dogs and per the website it says $5 per dog per night and we were staying for a total of 5 nights. So it should’ve been $50 for the dogs. However we were charged $100 and was told it was $10 per dog per night. After we pulled up their website to show them it says $5 per dog per night they still continued to argue with us about the pet price. My reservation for 5 nights was for $288 and some change which has now turned into $420 when we checked in. The room smells, we have squished spiders on the wall, there is shady people loitering around here at all hours of the day/night, drug deals happening in the parking lot, there is no house keeping and the best one yet... THE FURNACE IS BROKEN!! We had no hot water and wasn’t even told about this when we checked in. We had to find it out on our own. We ended up having to go elsewhere to even take a shower. I don’t recommend this place at all, and we will not be coming...

3 out of 5 stars The staff was very helpful and accommodating—every time I asked for something, they got it for me quickly. They also allowed a late checkout, which I really appreciated. However, I did have a concerning experience when I saw someone in regular clothes using a key card to enter our room as we were driving away. I stopped and let him know it was our room, and he apologized, but it was unsettling since he wasn’t in uniform and could’ve easily been mistaken for just anyone. As for cleanliness, it could definitely be improved. I had to ask for a new sheet because the one on the bed had hairs and a hole in it. I also requested an extra sheet to cover the furniture due to visible stains. The carpet was heavily worn and stained—it might be time to replace it altogether.
