Golden Rush Espresso — Restaurant in Yreka

My crew and I were based in Yreka during the fire season and would usually stop there on our way to the fire base from the hotel. Although there were several instances in which the line was a tad longer than we hoped, we were always prepared for some delays. Sometimes they baristas just couldn't keep up with the increasing line.

After a few weeks, we became somewhat of regulars and the staff would see our truck and would almost always start our order when we were next. The Mexican Coffee was our favorite. I didn't feel the coffee was particularly strong but not weak either. Mostly, just about how you would expect coffee from a local coffee shop.

We used the punch card because we came so frequently and it was nice to get an extra coffee every now and then.

So, this is the closest thing Yreka has to an independent coffee joint that is open on Sunday. I came to the walk-up window @ about 8 behind a major time-consuming bull_____er. During my wait, cars started piling up at the other side drive-up window. I, a stranger (who got off the freeway and parked a truck for this place), found myself pushed aside in favor of the drive-ups who I assume are the regular cash cows. This is my favorite place to go to treat myself to the best coffee and smoothies that Yreka has to offer. They serve ice, blended and hot coffee drinks. They also have pastries and a special of the day displayed on a board. The prices are reasonable and the staff is always friendly, helpful and they provide speedy service.
