We ordered 4 pizzas from Round Table Pizza in Yreka, CA, to be delivered for a bday party yesterday evening. They were called in at 4:10 pm, and we were told delivery time would be 45 min. At 5:30 there was still no sign of our pizza, so I went downtown to the restaurant to find out where our food was. I was told by the girl at the register all the managers had left so she had no idea what to do. She finally found someone willing to help me, a nice kid, Garrett, who got the managers phone number from another employee and called him. Garrett told me if I didnt mind waiting 20 more minutes, the manager said to make my order and give it to me free. I went outside to call my daughter to let everyone at home know I would be back soon. I went back in about 15 min later to see my pizzas sitting there ready for me. A dirty sweaty gross looking guy named Tim (I think) came over to me and said he had a few questions before he could give me my food. He asked me to verify the phone # the order was called in from. It was correct. Then he asked me to verify the delivery address. It was NOT correct. The INCOMPETENT RESTAURANT STAFF wrote the address down wrong. Apparently the driver went to the wrong house. He said he called but no one answered. I believe he did call, but none of us had been monitoring our phones, because as I said, we were celebrating a birthday! Tim then told me he was actually not willing to give me my order free as I had been told before I waited that additional 20 minutes, but could give me 20% off. I said no thank you and left. I should never have had to wait an hour and a half in the first place, and should not have been offered the pizzas for free to make it right if the offer was going to be retracted. I have gone to this restaurant on average 2 times a week for the past several years and have had a few bad experiences but have always had the managers go out of their way to make it right. This time was very disappointing and I will not return any time soon. Yreka is a small place and just because you are the only pizza chain in town does not make it ok to treat your loyal regular...
Read moreDont order the pepperoni pizza for kids , it's extremely spicy even hot on the tongue, my grandkids refused to eat it , they were 4, 5 , 7 years of age and always loved it before , I've never had a problem with Round Table , we spent 76 dollars on thier pizzas , unfortunately the one for them was inedible , when I tasted it I understood why they spit it out and refused another bite , it was so hot spicey I couldn't stomach it either , when i called to ask if they had changed the pepperoni the kid who answered the phone told me it was the same and had never changed , I told him how the kids reacted to it and he said he didnt know why they would like it one day and not the next , well it wasnt like we had it two days in a row lol , we hadn't ordered in a cple months that's the reason I'm asking if it had changed...he was rude , refused to give me his name , talked at me not to me , I'm sure he hasn't been employed long enough to know if the recipe had changed lol , when i asked for the manager he hung up on me . When i called back, he hung up again , same kid , well this is my family saying enough is enough, we will never order from the local round table again ever , you can hire brats to answer and manage your orders but my advice is get someone with some customer service experience or you lose a long time customer who has been a regular over years and years , and yes the pepperoni has changed or there was something drastically wrong with that one pizza of the 3 we ordered, if the kid who answered would have realized he wasnt truly able to answer if it had changed or realize a long time customer was giving a genuine complaint, maybe a more mature person could have kept us as customers with a simple offer to replace said pizza that was to spicey for little kids to eat or wondered why it was that way maybe ? Even been curious as to why it was intolerable for everyone who even tried a piece. Good...
Read moreI'm passing through on business and decided to have a pizza delivered to my hotel. I called Round Table about 5:30, placed my order, and was told it would be an hour and ten minutes. Fine. At about 7:15 I called to check on the ETA of my delivery. I was told my pizza had "just gone out" and would arrive in "about 10 minutes." No such luck. A half an hour later, now 7:47, I called and I was told there had been a "mix-up" and they were making my pizza "as we speak" and they would get it to me right away. Yeah. Not so much. I told them that if it didn't arrive soon I would call back and cancel the order. About 5 minutes later I get a call from Round Table and was told there was another issue and did I want to cancel the order? They then immediately offered to make and deliver the pizza (the one I had now been waiting 2 1/2 hours ro get) for free. OK. Fine. Whatever. They promised they would make it and send it out right away with driver. Hmmm, this sounds familiar. Short after 9:00 PM I called again and asked the young man who answered if I could speak to whoever was in charge. No problem, he said, putting the phone down. I waited for almost 5 minutes but no one picked up so I hung up and called again. This time I spoke to the person in charge and while she apologized, she went on a rant that she was short drivers and "I can't just get in my car and drive it myself!" Why not I thought? Yreka is really small. It's 4 minutes/ 1.6 miles to Round Table from my hotel. I could have driven back-and-forth something like 30 times in the time it took to get this pizza. Finally, a little after 9:30, my (free) pizza was delivered. Things happen, I get it. But Round Table was completely disingenuous from the start, screwed up at least 2 times on my order, never contacted me to tell me there was an issue and made me wait over 4 hours for a pizza. The fact that it was free doesn't lessen their horrendous service....
