Pizza Cottage — Restaurant in Zanesville

I'm deeply disappointed with my recent experience at Pizza Cottage in Zanesville. While their 4.4-star rating and advertised casual dining atmosphere initially seemed promising, the reality fell far short of expectations.

The service was remarkably slow, even though the restaurant wasn't overly crowded. Our order took an unreasonable amount of time to arrive, and when it did, it was incorrect. The staff seemed disorganized and lacked the attentiveness one would expect in a casual dining setting. They were not proactive in addressing our concerns, and we had to flag them down multiple times for assistance.

The food itself was mediocre at best. The pizza was bland and undercooked, lacking the flavor and crispiness advertised. Other items we ordered were similarly underwhelming, suggesting an overall lack of quality control in the kitchen. I expect a far greater standard of quality, given the prices charged.

The casual atmosphere, while initially appealing, became overshadowed by the poor service and food quality. What should have been a relaxed meal turned into a frustrating experience. Their food is very good but it seems like every time we order from there, the prices have increased. Also, I like their spaghetti dinner but there is never enough sauce on it. Last time, I ordered extra meat sauce & paid extra for it only to end up with the same amount of sauce as their regular spaghetti dinner. They have done better the two visits but they always forget part of my order. When I called and spoke to management, they seemed more irritated that I called expecting them to fix their mistake. I am giving them 3 stars because we were there with half of my sister's dance team. It confused the poor wait staff and a couple of us didn't get our orders done correctly and my sister and a couple others didn't get their orders at all. I can't completely blame the staff though. There was like 50 of us and several families who weren't all sitting together so figuring out the checks had to be a nightmare. Anyway, I can confidently say that I bet it would be fine if I just went there with my family and not half a dance team....I will probably come back with just my family and I bet I'll end up giving them 5 stars.
