It feels like the staff take their work not seriously. We’ve been having lunch and dinner here for two days, and both times the service was disappointing. On the first day, the waitress didn’t even know the menu. She kept saying “okay, sure” to everything we asked for but didn’t write anything down. When we told her to write it so she wouldn’t forget, she replied that she would remember it anyway. Later, different waiters brought the dishes, and they weren’t even what we ordered. Only after we complained did another waitress come to apologize. We thought, fine, mistakes happen.
But today it was the same situation. Another waitress was taking our order, and when we started asking about the menu, she suddenly answered a phone call, told us “one moment,” and walked away. That felt extremely disrespectful. Many foreigners eat here, and everyone has different cultural expectations. For us, it came across as offensive. Again, another waitress had to apologize for her, and eventually even the one who left came back saying “sorry.” IT SEEMS LIKE APOLOGISING HERE IS JUST A HABIT, while the overall attitude towards guests feels careless.
Then our food took 40 minutes to arrive, and after that no one even checked on us. On the second floor there are no staff at all, so every time we needed something, we had to go downstairs to ask. Overall, the place looks nice, but it’s definitely NOT...
Read moreStart with the positives: the food is excellent and very filling! The quality has remained high and has not taken any hits in the entire time I've been visiting this restaurant. However It may be location dependent, but this location has gone a little bit downhill in terms of service and price.
All the following changes have taken place: menu has recently changed, and they no longer offer the favorites as before, and of course prices have gone up as well. Once your order is taken, no one is to be found so you must go downstairs to find service. They no longer serve on proper sized plates and put the food on a side-dish style plate (not sure why).
But perhaps the most shocking discovery is now they charge for a side of (imitation) maple syrup, to the tune of 30,000 VND for 15 mL. To put this in perspective to foreigners or other locals, they charge more for 15 mL of fake syrup than most cafes in Da Nang charge for a large cup of Vietnamese Iced Coffee (25,000 VND), also being around the price for Steak and Eggs Bo Ne at other establishments (35,000 VND).
Just some things to be aware about, the food is consistent and great quality, but greed and stingy nature along with lowering service seems to be on the rise at this location near the Pink Church and may or may not affect their loyal customer base and...
