Cơm Nhà Linh — Restaurant in Đà Nẵng

This place has... character... in that it’s infested with stray, sickly, unfriendly cats foraging for food... mounds of dirty dishes left on the tables...While I can appreciate the charm that such elements bring to many restaurants in SE Asia, what I didn’t appreciate was the reception I got from the staff. The first interaction I had with a member of staff was when they came to take the extra menu off my table, without asking if I needed it and handed it off to two local guys. I had a look at the menu, which was pretty limited because of the Tet holiday. I tried waving someone down to take my order but the staff kept rushing back into the kitchen. There are several signs asking for you to rate them on TripAdvisor which I found humorous considering how awful this place is. The food here at Cơm Nhà Linh was great, but the service we received was confusing.

When we arrived, we took a seat in what was an entirely empty restaurant. When we asked to see a menu we were informed that Cơm Nhà Linh only has one menu for customers. So, we had to pass around one menu between our group of four. Obviously, it took us close to 10-15 minutes before we had each reviewed the menu and made our selections. Again, no problem, but what if there were other customers here at the same time? Do other tables have to wait for the others to finish reviewing the menu? Strange.

Very dishonest establishment making a whole new menu for Tet ONLY and putting the regular prices then in the corner of the menu putting 30% surcharge for all food. Like if you made a new menu for the week why wouldn’t you put the actual prices. Refer to the picture I post. Then on top of it I ordered like 3 dishes and none of them had meat in it like the menu pictures display. Unreal they think they can just ripoff foreigners like that.
